USCIS has released the fourth (4th) quarter statistics recently for Fiscal Year 2014 for I-526 and I-829 Immigrant Petitions by Alien Entrepreneurs. For I-526, in 2013, a total of 6,346 petitions were received and entered into the case tracking system. 3,699 cases were approved, and 7,131 cases were pending.
IMMACT90 is a legislation that used to be regarded by immigration lawyers as a milestone for deportation issues. The act significantly restructured the U.S. immigration system and included changes to non-immigrant visa categories, deportation rules, and increased legal immigration limits, among other important revisions.
After a gap of 11 months, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) finally held the highly anticipated EB-5 Stakeholder Meeting, the first since Director Nicholas Colucci took office. There was no indication of how many people were participating as the meeting was held telephonically.
EB-5 is a job creation program and yet to many EB-5 investors, it is hardly surprising that the majority of the EB-5 projects on the market focus on real estate development.
At this time there are 439 USCIS approved regional centers, however not all regional centers are active. Buying and selling USCIS approved RC’s some with exorbitant price tags has become a hot topic in the EB-5 arena.
