Nov 20, 2011 · From The Infosphere, the Futurama Wiki Single Female Lawyer was a late 20th century TV series that ran on the Fox Network. It is a spoof of the real-world series Ally McBeal. Its heroine is the single female lawyer ( Jenny McNeal) who wears an extremely short mini-skirt and is promiscuous.
Aug 27, 2021 · Just take a look at the episode, "When Aliens Attack," which uses an episode of a fake courtroom sitcom entitled "Single Female Lawyer" (a parody on the 1990s show, "Ally McBeal") as a key element...
Nov 06, 2019 · "Single Female Lawyer" is based off the show Ally McBeal, which was airing on Fox around the same time Futurama was. The show was fairly popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, but no one really talks about it anymore, and it would not be surprising if …
The Hyper-Chicken is modelled on Jimmy Stewart's Academy Award-nominated portrayal of lawyer Paul Biegler in Anatomy of a Murder. Trying a murder case in a small town, Biegler wins over the sceptical jury by repeatedly comparing himself, "a simple country lawyer", to the high-powered prosecutor, Claude Dancer (George C. Scott).
In a deleted scene, Amy once admitted to sleeping with Bender's lawyer. The scene may have been deleted because they remembered that this is his lawyer.
Hyper-Chicken: Now I may be just be a simple country Hyper-Chicken, but I know when we're finger licked.
Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen for the Fox Broadcasting Company.
This also allows for contemporary celebrities to make guest appearances as themselves. The technology was invented by Ron Popeil, himself a head. People seem to be able to be resurrected using this technology, as every U.S. President is found in the "Head Museum"; the most prominent head is that of Richard Nixon who becomes the President of Earth.
Along with the employees of Planet Express, Futurama includes a large array of characters, which include co-workers, media personalities, business owners, extended relatives, townspeople, aliens, and villains. Many of these characters were created for one-time gags, background scenes or other functions in the Futurama universe.
The Hypnotoad is a large toad-like alien with pulsating, multicolored eyes, which emits a loud, ominous buzzing noise. It has the power to hypnotize almost any living thing at will, even mass numbers of creatures. The Hypnotoad first appeared in " The Day the Earth Stood Stupid ", in which it hypnotized a flock of sheep to herd themselves into a pen and close the door behind them, the panel of judges to win the pet show and then the audience of the pet show to force their approval of that victory. It later acquired its own television show, Everybody Loves Hypnotoad, in which it hypnotizes the audience (except for Fry, due to his lack of a Delta brain wave and the fact that he feels the show has been going downhill since its third season). The Futurama: Bender's Big Score DVD includes a full 22-minute episode. The episode mainly features the Hypnotoad staring into the camera, occasionally intercut with a laugh track or shots of the exteriors of various locations to indicate a scene change. The finale of the show consists of a voiceover telling the audience that they will wake up remembering nothing and feeling refreshed, and the credits are all attributed to Hypnotoad.
Barbados Slim (voiced by John DiMaggio) is Hermes' arch-rival. He not only defeated Hermes at the 3004 Olympics to win the gold medal in limbo, but is also the only person ever to win gold medals in both limbo and sex. He was formerly married to LaBarbara Conrad, who still refers to him as a "mahogany god". In Futurama: Bender's Big Score, after Hermes was decapitated in a limboing accident, LaBarbara left him (believing as a head in a jar he would not be able to provide for her) and got back together with Barbados, even going so far as to take his last name (Dwight also took his last name), even though they never remarried and Dwight was never adopted. After Hermes uses his bureaucratic prowess to save Earth from the scammers and wins back LaBarbara (and gets a new body), Slim vows "You have not seen the last of Barbados Slim!" before adding "Now goodbye forever!" As he prepares to leave the bridge, the sliding door malfunctions and goes down halfway. Slim then tries to limbo beneath only for the door to fall and crush his chest.
He contemptuously refers to humanoids as "solids" and ridicules their one-way digestive system. In " The Route of All Evil ", the Horrible Gelatinous Blob has a son named Brett Blob, who regularly bullies Cubert and Dwight. In Futurama: Bender's Big Score he, or someone of his species, appears on the twenty dollar bill.
The Robot Mafia is a three-member crime syndicate operating out of "Fronty's Meat Market" and "Small Bill's Laundry", who periodically dine at Elzar's, hijack shipments of Zuban cigars, arrange " accidents" for robots who act against them, as well as other unspecified Mafia-related illegal activities . They are made up of:
1 Revenge of Robot House. The “Mars University” episode was a great parody of the classic college movies. This episode features Fry going to college and him competing with a monkey who is much more intelligent than him. Aside from this, Bender joins the robot frat, Robot House.
The episode "A Farewell To Arms" is a parody of the world wide conspiratorial panic of the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse. A few years prior to 2012, there was a lot of talk in the media about the end of days soon being upon us, based on the Mayan Calendar ending on the date of December 21, 2012. The date was supposed to be the end of the world, but several years later, here we are.
The Morcs appeared in the direct to video film, Futurama: Bender’s Game. When the Futurama crew gets turned into fantasy characters, they run into these creatures they find to be excruciatingly obnoxious. They are basically a spoof of Robin Williams, as they faintly look, and sound like him.
The episode "When Aliens Attack" is about the powerful Omicronian aliens invading Earth, because they are angry about their favorite show, "Single Female Lawyer," suddenly going off the air in its series’ finale.
Watching the episode, "A Bicyclops Built for Two" is uncomfortable for a lot of reasons. The episode is essentially about Leela meeting another cyclops and them getting together to repopulate their race. The problem is that this other cyclops is a shapeshifter using his powers to sleep with Leela.
Both Lucy Liu and Nappster are a bit dated in the episode "I Dated a Robot." In this episode, Fry dates an AI version of Lucy Liu he downloaded off Nappster. To be fair, Lucy Liu is a cool person, but she is not really as relevant as she once was. And while Nappster is an influential part of music and media history, it only really serves as footnote these days.
While Revenge of the Nerds is referred to as a classic college comedy, it is also pretty problematic from a modern perspective. Specifically, there is a scene where the nerds plant cameras in a sorority house to view them undressing.

Fry, who is cryogenically preserved for 1000 years and is revived in the 31st century. Fry finds work at an interplanetary delivery company, working alongside the one-eyed Leela and robot
Futurama is essentially a workplace sitcom, the plot of which revolves around the Planet Express interplanetary delivery company and its employees, a small group that largely fails to conform to future society.
