Jackson Avery, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a fictional character in the ABC prime time medical drama, Grey's Anatomy, portrayed by actor Jesse Williams. The character was created by series creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes.
Jackson was an atheist but he professed a possible belief in God while April was in critical condition after an accident. Since then, he has now found faith in God. Stephanie told him that he has an "angry face" when he's thinking. He suggested the hospital should be renamed to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in memory of Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan.

Code Pink. Code pink is called when a child or infant has gone missing. After this code is called, all entrances and exits of the hospital are locked or guarded until the entire hospital has been searched.
Neither those behind the medical drama or Mason herself have spoken out about why she left. Grey's Anatomy has written out numerous of its interns over the years so it could have simply been a creative decision. But Mason did have other projects lined up when she was done with the ABC series.
Jackson comes from a hugely affluent family. He had been left a staggering $250 million dollars after the passing of his grandfather, Harper Avery. He gave much of it away, although one assumes that he wouldn't have been left penniless even if he gave away a lot.
When his grandfather died earlier in Season 14, Jackson inherited a cool $250 million. Yes, seriously!
According to his mother, Catherine, Jackson "ruined" everything, seemingly by making one simple phone call. It all started just because Jackson was trying to help a friend — Amelia and Alex are trying to use lasers to shrink tumors and save Kimmie, Alex's favorite patient. They came across a physician, Dr.
The family then agreed to let Owen and Amelia adopt Leo. Owen and Amelia split up shortly before the adoption, so Owen adopted Leo on his own with Amelia choosing to stay a big part of Leo's life as "Auntie Amelia".
NaomiSam met Naomi in medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where they also met and befriended Derek Shepherd, Mark Sloan and Addison Montgomery. The two married and had a daughter, Maya Bennett, now age 15.

2. Japril doesn't work out. Even though April has agreed to join Jackson in Boston and she's now single, it's not a given that they will ride off into the sunset together. Maybe a long-term romantic relationship between them just isn't in the cards anymore.
Maggie and Jackson began developing romantic feelings for each other during her mom's treatment for breast cancer at Grey Sloan Memorial. The two developed a stronger friendship after her mom's passing. Her mom, Diane, left Jackson in possession of pictures she wanted Maggie to have. April pointed out during the fire at the hospital that Jackson had feelings for Maggie, and Maggie had feelings for him too. Maggie later confronted Jackson, quickly calling such suggestions, "silly." But soon after, Jackson and Maggie started growing closer to each other.
Jackson got the information he wanted but didn't tell Mark about it because he'd developed feelings for Lexie and wanted to respect her privacy.
He wanted to leap and trust that something would catch him as April and Matthew did. Maggie pointed out they got married . He said he wanted to trust it.
Vic met Jackson when she responded to a call and found him holding Jai Prishna, who was dangling from a rope over a cliff. She helped him wench Jai up to safety. Despite this, they continued to see each other, though it remained mostly platonic.
During the last part, Catherine promised Jackson she wouldn't keep it from him if she got worse. He appreciated that and she thanked him for the surgery. On Jo's first day back, Jackson invited her to help him out on her project since Meredith asked him to check up on her.
Jackson and Jo developed a friendship mainly after she got married to Alex. During a particular surgery, Jo was venting about Alex's mother pushing her to start thinking about having kids. In her rant, she called kids monsters, which offended Jackson. Jo later apologized to him and asked if the cute things outweigh the terror kids and cause. Jackson admitted to her that kids could be monsters, but they also give you the feeling that everything's right. He told her kids can ruin lives but also give you a reason to live when life tries to ruin you.
Jackson prayed to God to bring April back after she fell into a ravine with a river that left her asystolic and severely hypothermic. She recovered without deficits. That left Jackson to look for spirituality in his own life.
After all when we last saw Jackson he had left Grey Sloan Memorial, after a disagreement with his mother on being a more active part of the protests surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. His mother then says he sounds just like his father and Jackson says that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Jesse Williams as Jackson Avery and Sarah Drew as April Kepner (ABC) Fans have already started thinking in this direction. One fan on YouTube says, "Honestly wondering if this is how Jackson is going to leave the show.".
Through many beach scenes and many near-death moments, one thought that has kept fans of 'Grey's Anatomy' going through Season 17 has been the thought of a Japril reunion. The upcoming episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' provides just that, but the question is does this reunion come at a cost.
It wouldn't be the first time on the show that older characters are re-introduced, in this case, April Kepner (Sarah Drew) as part of an exit strategy of sorts. We saw it when Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) left to reunite with Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl).
They are victims of an aviation accident in which Lexie Grey and eventually Mark Sloan die of their injuries . After the accident, Avery stays at Seattle Grace and continues his work in plastic surgery. He and Kepner continue a sexual relationship, although April is uneasy and believes she is pregnant.
In season 12, their marriage begins to fall apart and they grow estranged. In episode 11 , they file for a civil divorce. After their divorce is completed, Kepner reveals that she is pregnant with Avery's child.
He describes the character as much more "cavalier," and bold. Matt Webb Mitovitch described Jackson as having a "sense of entitlement," while Williams described Jackson's demeanor as "swagger.". Because his work environment is extremely competitive, Avery acts as if he belongs and refuses to second guess himself.
Jackson immediately clashes with Cristina Yang ( Sandra Oh) due to their competitive natures. The immediate tension between the duo leads to speculation about a potential romance. Yang and Avery compete for the same cases, and in the episode, " Invest in Love ," for the first time, Jackson witnesses Cristina taking charge of a situation, and he admires her; he looks at her differently. At a party, when Jackson is a bit drunk, he opens up about how attractive he finds Cristina and kisses her. Jackson is unaware of Yang's relationship with Owen Hunt ( Kevin McKidd ), so the attraction is natural. Williams does not worry about fans of the couple hating his character because he understands that fans aren't really supposed to like the Mercy Westers; Jackson is in the enemy camp and "has to take his lumps." Williams said the kiss was a "pretty relatable crime of passion." The kiss doesn't have any immediate effects on Owen and Cristina's romance and it remains secret. Jackson and Cristina develop a sort of mutual understanding as they tend to push one another to be better.
April and Jackson's baby is diagnosed during pregnancy with Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2, and they learn that the baby will not survive long after birth. Jackson believes that termination is the best option; however, April would rather give birth to the baby, knowing it will not live very long.

Williams initially appeared as a recurring cast member, and was later promoted to a series regular in season 7. The character's main storyline involves Jackson trying to achieve success on his own instead of riding on the coattails of his surgeon grandfather's high reputation.
