Michael Dean Cohen (born August 25, 1966) is an American former attorney and convicted felon who was a lawyer for Donald Trump from 2006 until May 2018. [1] [2] Cohen was a vice-president of The Trump Organization , and the personal counsel to Trump, and was often described by media as Trump's " fixer ".
Following law school, Michael served as judicial clerk for the Honorable Thomas P. Griesa, United States District Judge in the federal Southern District of New York.
Michael graduated from Columbia University (BA), UC Berkeley School of Law (JD), the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley (MBA), and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa (MFA). In law school, he served as an editor of the California Law Review. He also attended the Medical Institute for Law Faculty at the Cleveland Clinic.
In addition to his professional activities, Michael received certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher. He also trained in mediation at the Center for Dispute Resolution in Santa Monica, and with the American Health Lawyers Associations.
