JeffIt was revealed during the season that Sheri knocked down a stop sign and while driving. While Hannah wanted to report that it was down, Sheri didn't want to get in trouble and just told her to leave it alone. Jeff was driving past and since the sign was down, he kept going, causing him to die in a car crash.
Sheri, however, is reluctant to do this. So Clay goes over alone to the Atkin's home to tell his parents the truth. Hannah mentions in her tapes that she wanted to tell the Atkins about what happened to Jeff everytime she passed by their house.
Sheri is a junior at Liberty High School. She is a former cheerleader for Liberty Tigers. She is the subject of "Tape 5, Side B", where she was responsible for abandoning Hannah, after she crashed her car into a stop sign, which Hannah and Sheri found out may have caused the death of another student, Jeff Atkins.
