Annalise tells him that they have the hard drive and the two arrange a meeting. Annalise meets Jorge and brings him the drive. Nate broke the news to his dad in prison, insisting it wasn't “bad,” and promised to have his father's “back.” He wasn't buying it. Later, Annalise wrote her written brief and presented it to the state supreme court. They voted to dismiss her case and the case ultimately ended.

Alfred Enoch, How to Get Away with Murder Mitch Haaseth, ABC. There are a couple of theories that could explain it. The first and most popular is that he's been in league with the FBI this whole time.
Annalise preps to defend her first class action plaintiff and adjusts to the politics of the new job. Meanwhile, Frank is suspicious of Gabriel and does some investigating of his own, and Asher complicates Bonnie's new life away from Annalise.

Ronald accepting Bonnie 's help in the case. (" Ask Him About Stella ")
Towards the start of season 5, Bonnie gets close to Miller to find out how much he knows about Annalise and the Keating 4. Due to his close relationship with Denver, Bonnie worries that he may have some knowledge of the content of the files Denver kept on the group. Bonnie begins to fall for Miller as the season progresses.
Later on, Nate convinces Miller to use his contact at the Governors office to get his father transferred to a mental health facility, which Miller does. Incredible PC game bundle, from $10. Buy from Fanatical. Annalise makes a deal with Governor Birkhead and Nate senior is pardoned.
After the suspicious death of D.A. Todd Denver, Ronald took temporary leadership of the department. Ronald gathered staff of the District Attorney's Office and during his speech, Ronald is visibly shaken by Denver's death and urges them all to give full cooperation to the FBI. He then takes a moment to honor Denver. Later, Ronald enters Bonnie 's office and asks her why the FBI is meeting with her intern and makes a sexist joke about pregnant women and hormones. He then apologies for being a “frat boy” and buries the hatchet with Bonnie. He then tells her that he cannot run the office without her. Sometime later, Bonnie is on a dating app when she was marched with Ronald. She swipes left, indicating that she likes him and it tells her that he also swiped left, indicating that he likes her too. Ronald then got notified of their match on his phone and looks at their match in his pocket. He looks over at her office and Bonnie awkwardly smiles at him, he smiles back. (" Nobody Else Is Dying ")
As the season progresses, Miller and Bonnie get closer, despite Bonnie refusing to publicise their relationship. When Bonnie finds out her baby may be alive, Miller takes her to her sisters house to find out the truth and supports her when she finds out the baby is in fact dead.
Ronald was tasked with making sure that Jasmine Bromelle remains in prison. During the first part, Miller argued to the judge in court that the case didn't need to go to trial again as they already had one where she was convicted of prostitution and drug trafficking. Annalise argued that she wasn't treated right.
Meanwhile, Ingrid Egan, the lawyer representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before the Supreme Court is on a morning talk show bad-mouthing Olivia Pope and accusing both Liv and AK of using the class action to distract from their own criminal acts.
After Annalise signs the Supreme Court guest book (that’s a thing?!), she gets a call from Jacqueline. Isaac overdosed three days ago and police found him in his car. He’s not dead but his kidneys are failing. And since Annalise doesn’t have enough to worry about, Jacqueline blames her, telling her she already knew the truth about Stella and accuses Annalise of ruining everyone in her life. This sends Annalise into a guilt spiral until she’s a weeping, catatonic mess on the floor.
She makes a compellingly beautiful argument for the emotional labor of women, particularly black women, saying “Sometimes I think this whole country would just fall apart if we weren’t around to clean up the mess.” These two episodes really have a lot of profound things to say about gender and race, and it’s so compelling to watch these three great actresses delve into these subjects.
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming. Bonnie did not find any money in Wes’ account, which means Frank needs to tell Laurel the truth whether he likes it or not. Frank searches Wes’ apartment for the 100k Laurel’s mom supposedly gave Wes. He doesn’t find it, but he does find a USB drive containing a recording of Wes’ conversation with Laurel’s mother. When Laurel gets home, Frank plays it for her – Laurel’s mother is heard probing Wes about his legal trouble and Wes’ promise that he will tell Laurel about the meeting.
Michaela and Asher are still hashing out their breakup as Asher packs his things and prepares to move out. Asher doesn’t believe Michaela regrets cheating on him and calls her evil. The prosecutor Bonnie previously tried to flirt with to get the DA’s office to dismiss Isaac’s case is now in charge of the DA’s office.
Why? Because it was all a set-up. As Jorge is leaving the hospital, he is intercepted and arrested by the FBI. They tell Tegan that he’s in custody, because now that we flash back to her meeting with Annalise, we see the continuation of their convo. While ordering Annalise to get out and reading off legal code citations, Tegan also wrote on a piece of paper, “I’m in.” She turned whistleblower to the FBI in exchange for full immunity and is listed as Jane Doe in the case paperwork, so she can go back to Caplan & Gold and her colleagues will be none the wiser.
Laurel and Annalise grill the FBI about her being brought in for questioning, but Laurel lies and says she thought the meeting with Denver was about her maternity leave, but that Denver just wanted to talk about her father. She tells the FBI she was surprised they knew each other and says she hasn’t spoken with her father recently. LIES. ALL LIES.
Annalise gets a call from Nate, and he’s surprised her phone isn’t blowing up, because guess what else is on the news? The Supreme Court has ruled in Lahey v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Annalise won. This is a huge victory for her, the Keating Four, and the reformation of the criminal justice system. The whole gang gets emotional on Bonnie’s couch as the news declares Annalise “a legal powerhouse on a national level.” (Recap continues on page 3)
But first, the FBI want to talk to her because she’s also the last person who was seen with Denver alive (this is not a good habit to have, Laurel). Frank heads off to New York to look for Mrs. Castillo, while Michaela and Oliver go to visit Simon and Annalise accompanies Laurel to the FBI.
Annalise tells Tegan that Jorge killed the district attorney , but Tegan kicks her out of the office.
Nate is doing his own sleuthing and finds a decades-old case listed as active in Denver’s database. He tells the police that they’re looking into old cases to find people with grudges against Denver and goes to an old evidence locker. There is something in the locker, despite the case being supposedly closed for decades.
Isaac perjuring himself at court. (" Nobody Roots for Goliath ")
During Laurel 's custody hearing, Isaac is asked by Annalise, her lawyer, to testify on the stand about Laurel's condition. Before, Annalise explains outside of the courtroom that she won't go easy on him and gives him some sample questions of things that she will ask him. Isaac however, reminds Annalise that he will be fine. In court, Annalise after Sandrine Castillo finishes on the stand, Annalise calls Isaac to the stand. Isaac explains to the judge that he and other medical professionals at the hospital saw that Laurel wasn't exhibiting any of the symptoms of a drug user and also that she didn't show any signs of depression. Annalise then asks him in his opinion whether he thinks that Laurel is fit to care for her newborn baby to which he tells the judge that he thinks she is. After the defense rests, Mr. Dean, Laurel's father's lawyer, questions Isaac about his past addition to which Isaac openly admits that he is a former addict, however, his former addiction helps him better understand his clients. Mr. Dean then brings up his daughter's suicide and asks whether the same drug which was found in her system was the same drug which he used to take. Isaac reluctantly agrees which prompts Mr. Dean to reveal that he has convinced the DA's Office to reopen her case due to some irregularities which cause the judge to agree that Isaac's testimony about Laurel should be thrown out thereby causing Laurel's son to remain with her father. (" He's a Bad Father ")
During his years doing his degree at college, he tried lots of different drugs and ended up getting hooked on heroin. Around 10 years later, he became homeless due to his addiction. One night, he was in a line and he met Jacqueline. The two instantly hit it off and she helped him out by getting him off of the drugs and back to college to finish his degree. The two eventually got married and had a daughter, Stella. One night around 2013, Isaac came home and found his daughter dead on the floor of her room. He saw that she had found his stash of K-pex and overdosed. He instantly started doing CPR to try and revive her. After a while, he realized that she wasn't coming back. Isaac thought about what this would do to his wife and flushed the drugs down the toilet and sent a suicide note to her to make it look as if the death was intentional when in reality it is unknown whether she intentionally overdosed or did it by accident. He then called the police around 15 minutes after he had initially found her body. Not long after, the case was ruled a suicide under mysterious circumstances. Isaac later separated from his wife as he struggled to get over the loss of his daughter. Isaac stopped using again and begun seeing his ex-wife for therapy as he never truly got over the loss of his daughter. (" Stay Strong, Mama ", " Ask Him About Stella ")
(" I'm Not Her ") At the beginning of 2016, as ordered by the disciplinary board, Annalise Keating is forced to go to therapy in order to retain her license to practice law. During their first meeting at his office, the two introduce themselves.
Isaac then goes back to Laurel's hospital room where Annalise, Frank and Bonnie are talking. Upon seeing Isaac, Bonnie excuses herself and Isaac request that he talks with Annalise alone. Outside, Isaac tells Annalise that Laurel should stay in hospital, however, Annalise thinks otherwise.
Annalise later told Isaac they couldn’t continue their sessions, as they were getting “too close” and she wasn’t going to repeat what happened with Sam. The next day, Isaac showed up at court after being subpoenaed by the A.G. to testify about Annalise to try and get her class action lawsuit thrown out.
Annalise learns that Isaac Roa is in the hospital, with Jacqueline going on to unfairly blame her for destroying him. Bonnie and Frank continue to look for more clues that link Sandrine Castillo with Wes' murder; he later informs Laurel of his suspicions about her mother.
In this magnificent episode, all the narrative threads start weaving into each other — the gang, with the exception of Oliver and Connor, plans to blame Simon for the theft of Tegan's keycard in order to get him fired.
In real life, Ajay disguises himself as an academic, mainly writing textbooks for children — who all hate him for making their lives more miserable. He also writes about TV and film, strewing his opinions across the internet to see if people care (they don't).
Nate Lahey succeeds in getting his hands on the dead Dominick's cellphone, as well as the missing hard drive containing the recently dead DA Denver's reports on Annalise and her students.
Isaac's ex-wife, Jacqueline, tells Annalise that her presence is a trigger for him, and might even be impacting his sobriety; she has to stop seeing him to keep him from relapsing. Michaela, Asher, Oliver, and Laurel nervously ask Frank to help them in their plan, to which he responds with an unexpected positivity (much to Asher's chagrin.)
Rhimes remains an executive producer on Murder, and she is who Nowalk pitched the Supreme Court crossover idea to. But Nowalk says she hasn’t been involved in the show’s day-to-day operations in a while, so nothing will change now that the producer has a mega-deal at Netflix.
Though law students Asher (Matt McGorry) and Michaela ( Aja Naomi King) have been on the verge of a split ever since she hooked up with Olivia Pope’s right-hand man Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.) during the Murder-Scandal crossover, and the duo finally ended things for good. Except Asher still clearly loves his boo, and the door seemed to be open for an eventual reconciliation. However, the Annalise Keating-inspired move Michaela pulled in order to help the group out of their latest legal situation might cause Asher — and Connor (Jack Falahee ), Oliver (Conrad Ricamora ), Laurel (Karla Souza), Bonnie (Liza Weil) and Frank (Charlie Weber) — to think of her differently. Annalise (Viola Davis) certainly does.
Later that year, in July, it was announced the sixth season would be the last. Season 6 premiered on September 26, 2019.
At the Television Critics Association Press Tour in July 2014, it was announced that How to Get Away with Murder would be a limited series with only 15 or 16 episodes per season. The smaller size of episode count stems from the deal for the series star Viola Davis.
