Title basically summarizes it. I'm a very stressed person these days. Graduated 2016. Did a fellowship for a state government agency and fell into a pretty deep depression. It was a litigation position, and the longer it went a long, the better I got at it, but I never truly felt the stress go away.

How do you overcome nervousness ?

Do you still get nervous when dealing with clients and talking to people in general? My nervousness is so bad that my left eye just starts to water. Maybe it's my bad anxiety ...any solutions ? I suffer from "people think the worst of me - dumb, I hate the spotlight " type anxiety.

I recently passed the bar exam and will be sworn in within a couple weeks. I have a position as an associate at a criminal defense firm waiting for me. I’ve worked as a law clerk and assisted with criminal matters but have never carried a case from beginning to end, whether that’s through trial or plea deal.

How many cases does the typical lawyer handle yearly

I know that it varies, but on average, how many cases does the average lawyer handle per year. I know that public defenders handle about 500 per year.

Common, hard to say. Improper, probably not. Cases move through the courts at different rates depending on their complexity and the various stages. So some cases might be going through trial and require constant action, while others might be in a waiting phase. Waiting for discovery, responses, or something else.
