There are currently no announcements regarding the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer; however, there is a possibility that the series may return. The series is based on a collection of books by Michael Connelly, which provides ample material for additional seasons. The book series consists of six volumes.
Showrunner Bruce Miller told THR that Serena is gunning for June just as much as June is coming for Serena, and during The Handmaid's Tale season 5, their relationship will be even more complicated in the wake of Fred's death.
Serena can't return to Gilead without Fred because, despite Naomi Putnam's assurances that Serena would be welcomed back as a hero, Serena understands that, without Fred's protection, her son would be taken away, and she could be sent to the Colonies or be forced into becoming a Handmaid.
In Season 2, Offred is carrying a child, one Serena is obsessed with having brought to term, even as she resenting knowing the child is being carried by another woman. Cyrus and Eleanor tie the knot in the thirteenth episode of season 2, "O Brother, Where Bart Thou?" The episode also features Bart Bass' funeral, so the wedding serves as a nice distraction from the heaviness.
When Serena finds out, she tries and fails to get Gabriel to give the money back. He tells her that Poppy is the puppet master and the only one to able to get the money back. Serena, Nate, Chuck, Blair, and newly arrived back Georgina Sparks plot to get the money back.
She has a personal vendetta against Serena van der Woodsen because she believed she was the reason her brother, Ben Donovan, was sent to prison, although it was later revealed that it was actually Lily van der Woodsen.
In last night's episode of Gossip Girl, "Petty in Pink," we found out that Lily Bass Humphrey (Kelly Rutherford) got sentenced to house arrest instead of who-knows-how-many-years in the big house for sending an innocent man to prison.

With the female lawyer and the support for the Waterfords, "Testimony" is an episode of The Handmaid's Tale that serves as a stark reminder that many did - and still do - believe in Gilead, despite its many atrocities.
If Fred and Serena were able to choose their own lawyer, then hiring a woman could be a shrewd decision. Given the possible charges against them, then showing that they're happily working with a woman in a position of authority could help their case.
The Handmaid's Tale season 4, episode 8, "Testimony, " brings June Osborne face-to-face with two of her greatest tormentors from Gilead.
A woman could never be a lawyer in Gilead, but there's no rule against it in Canada. It's unclear whether the Waterfords had any say in their legal representation or not; if the latter, then it was simply a matter out of their hands, but it could also be a calculating move.
Given the many laws Gilead has surrounding women, it has raised the idea that Fred being represented by one in court is a plot hole. While The Handmaid's Tale season 4, episode 8 certainly doesn't address the matter, there are myriad reasons why a female lawyer could be defending them.
Blair finds Cyrus preparing for their Passover Seder dinner that night, and reminds him she won't be coming, as she has an important wedding rehearsal for Nate's cousin Tripp to attend.
Serena heads over to Blair's because Blair isn't there, and to see Cyrus.

He is torn because Yale may be the better school, but his grandfather helped him get in there, and he's determined not to owe anyone any favors. Something is bothering Nate.
Serena then discovers that Dan is there because he is a cater waiter, which doesn't help his self-esteem after what he's already heard.
The grandfather tells Blair that she has five minutes to fix this, and before she takes a moral stand she should remember what's at stake.
The Waldorf Seder, of course, is Dan's first catering gig, which he learns when Eleanor recognizes him outside their building. Dan tells Eleanor he can't serve food to Blair, but E says B isn't even going to show, and she offers to double his fee, so he very reluctantly agrees.
In an otherwise stellar season, the one downfall was Serena's convoluted legal battle. Serena's pregnancy and June's arrival in Canada forced the Waterfords to work together. Fred recanted his testimony against his wife in return for Serena resuming her role as the dutiful and devoted wife (at least in public).
Awaiting trial for war crimes in Canada since season 3, Fred decided to betray Gilead in exchange for his freedom in the season's penultimate episode, "Progress.". However, June Osborne used her considerable influence on both sides ...
Warning: SPOILERS for The Handmaid's Tale Season 4, Episode 10 - “The Wilderness,” and Serena Joy's storyline.
Serena can't return to Gilead without Fred because, despite Naomi Putnam's assurances that Serena would be welcomed back as a hero, Serena understands that, without Fred's protection, her son would be taken away, and she could be sent to the Colonies or be forced into becoming a Handmaid.
However, Serena could still prove to be an asset if she agrees to air all of Gilead's dirty laundry from the perspective of a Wife of a powerful Commander.
In the plot, Kincaid dies in a car accident as she drives a drunk Lennie Briscoe home from a bar. In a 2006 interview with The Morning Call, Hennessy said the role of an ADA on Law & Order is "limited" since the characters are supposed to keep their personal feelings out of the job.
Dzundza went on to star in the first seasons of two other series: the NBC sitcom Jesse and the CBS crime drama Hack. And between 2005 and 2007, he had a memorable arc on Grey's Anatomy, playing the ailing father of George O'Malley (T.R. Knight).
Parisse lasted just 34 episodes before home invaders kidnapped and murdered Borgia in 2006's season 16 finale. The actress told Newsday at the time that her character's death was "a total blast" to film, since it's usually Law & Order guest stars who get the emotional scenes.
Benjamin Bratt left Law & Order to spend time with his family. Mike Logan's replacement was Detective Rey Curtis, who entered the Law & Order universe in season 6 and exited at the end of season 9 in 1999. In that season's finale, Curtis takes an early retirement to tend to help his wife manage her MS.
Farina also had a starring role in the HBO drama Luck. Farina died in 2013 at age 67 after suffering a blood clung in his lung, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Producer Dick Wolf later told Newsday that Hill, then 78, left the show because he was tired and didn't want to commute from the suburbs into Manhattan every week.
Of course, with any TV show that runs that long, you're bound to see some turnover, and Law & Order cycled through dozens of series regulars over its 20-season run. In fact, by the time the show ended in 2010, not a single original cast member was left. (The longest-serving actor at the time was S. Epatha Merkerson, who started playing Lieutenant Anita Van Buren in season 4.)
