Jun 03, 2021 · He wanted to sue his work for unlawful termination. As Daredevil, Matt saved Austin from numerous attackers in some of the most intense and innovative action scenes ever depicted in a comic (beautifully drawn by artist Marcos Martin). As a lawyer, Matt Murdock was able to get both justice and protection for his client.
As a lawyer, Matt Murdock was able to get both justice and protection for his client.
Matt Murdock married Milla Donovan, a young woman who was just as fearless as him, and who also happened to be blind. Unfortunately, when people began to suspect that Matt was Daredevil, they targeted Milla. The villain Mr. Fear used a drug he had created to drive Milla insane.
He argued that Hulk deserved the right to speak in his own defense during the trial and that if Hulk was deemed unable to do so (as he might Hulk out), then it was the court admitting Hulk was not mentally capable of being held accountable for his actions, which would mean the trial was punishing Hulk for things he could not control. Standing on principle, Matt Murdock took a huge risk and showed what a hero he was, risking everything with this unpopular career move. This classic story would later be recreated in the Ultimate Universe and the 1978 live-action Hulk TV series.
To keep Pyromania from using his fire powers , the guards subjected him to sporadic loud noises, preventing him from concentrating. Or from sleeping. While they were alone together in a room, Pyromania attacked Matt, who promptly beat the snot out of him. He then bullied the inmate--his own client--into shouting at the guards "Matt Murdock isn't Daredevil." This display of force, rather than Matt's skill as a lawyer, was what persuaded the guards to respect Pyromania's human rights and cease torturing him with loud noises and sleep deprivation.
After a newspaper reported that Matt and Daredevil were the same person, things got very hard for the vigilante lawyer. The FBI thre w him in jail for his vigilantism, and even after he was released from prison, his enemies attacked his friends and family to get at him.
After he was no longer able to appear in court due to the backlash against his vigilantism, he began training clients to represent themselves.
When Hulk was put on trial, Matt Murdock defended him. At one point, Hulk broke free and escaped, and Matt (acting as Daredevil) had to bring him back in, working with the Fantastic Four to stop the green gamma-monster. Then, Matt continued to represent the Hulk--a dangerous career move.
(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b), a lawyer shall not represent a client if the representation involves a concurrent conflict of interest. A concurrent conflict of interest exists if:
As a lawyer, did Murdock behave ethically? Decidedly not . He took on the representation of Healy even though there was a “significant risk” that his representation would be limited by his responsibilities to numerous third parties (i.e., everyone he is trying to protect from Kingpin) and a “personal interest.”
One might counter: but, Murdock did get Healy acquitted! He represented him well in the courtroom, and only beat him up once the representation was finished!
In conclusion: while the “criminal-defense-lawyer-by-day / crime-fighter-by-night” theme makes great narrative sense, it forces our hero to run afoul of many of the most basic ethical rules guiding an attorney. Matt Murdock has chosen his “higher” ethical obligation as vigilante over his professional obligation as an attorney. While we may love him as a superhero, the State Bar of New York would have no choice but to scold him as an attorney.
Angered, Matt used a disguise to assault the man one night at his job, vowing to beat him again if he didn't stop his behavior. Matt felt right for making him pay when the law wasn't able to, and shortly after became a masked vigilante, wearing a black outfit made from things bought online.

Mahoney happened to be the cop who answered the call for the disturbance, and identified the masked vigilante despite his new appearance before cuffing Fisk. Matt subsequently left the scene. The next day, the press dubbed Matt "Daredevil" the masked hero that had brought an end to Fisk's corrupt enterprises.
As Daredevil, Matt is vicious and merciless towards criminals, although he refuses to kill, Matt is not afraid to break bones or torture his targets to get what he is after, even if his targets are not criminals themselves. Due to his extremely violent nature as a vigilante, Matt realizes that he has the potential to become the very thing he hates and takes care to never cross that line.
Master Hand-To-Hand Combatant/Martial Artist: Daredevil is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant and martial artist, as he was trained in hand-to-hand combat and martial arts, by Stick at a young age and excelled in it. He continued training despite the fact that Stick gave up on him, and he eventually used his skills to fight criminals as Daredevil. He was even able to take down the more physically powerful Wilson Fisk.

Punisher used this to his advantage, knocking Daredevil unconscious.

Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson moved to their new office in order to quickly establish their law firm, and Nelson quickly received a phonecall from Brett Mahoney to hand them their first case. Mahoney quickly explained that a female suspect had been found at the scene of an homicide, something that would be interesting, just as Nelson asked him.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki has a collection of images and media related to Nelson and Murdock Law Office.
The Nelson and Murdock Law Office is one of various landmarks featured in the non-canon video game The Incredible Hulk.
Murdock explained how they had a disagreement over the direction of their law firm, as he believed they had to defend the innocent, and Nelson believed that, as the law stated, the word "innocent" includes everyone not yet convicted of a crime.
Karen Page returned to the law office of Nelson and Murdock to explain Foggy Nelson that he had bought office equipment in an auction. Page made Nelson promise he would not get mad, especially as she had already taken a fax machine to the office but other things like a printer, conference phones and a copier would arrive the following day.
