Matt Lauer is one of the most recognizable news personalities in the United States. He joined NBC's Today show as an anchor in January of 1994 and has been a solid presence on the show since then, becoming an official co-anchor in January of 1997.
Matt Lauer has been — until now — one of the highest paid news anchors on television, raking in a reported salary of $28 million.
But early in the morning on Wednesday, November 29, Lauer was abruptly fired from the position he's held for almost 20 years because of an allegation of "inappropriate sexual behavior" in the workplace.
He's still supporting a pedophile, Roy Moore, for Senate, and he himself is a sexual predator. Let's hope the woman or women who come forward against Matt Lauer continue to pave the way for more victims to share their stories and out their abusers.
Nearly three years after former Today show host Matt Lauer was ousted for what NBC News chairman Andy Lack called "inappropriate sexual behavior," the former anchor is back in the spotlight again over news that he has re-listed his Hamptons mansion, Strongheart Manor, for $43.99 million.

In his book, Catch and Kill, journalist Ronan Farrow revealed further allegations from Lauer's former NBC coworker Brooke Nevils. She was the previously unnamed former NBC News employee whose complaint contributed to Lauer's firing. However, the full breadth of Nevils's allegations had never been made public, and in Farrow's book she reportedly alleges that she was anally raped by Lauer in his hotel room while attending the Sochi Olympics in 2014 on assignment for NBC.
The show's ability to maintain its audience is attributed in part to its long track record— Today first launched in 1952 —as well as the success of replacement host Hoda Kotb. Kotb’s popularity among women is strong, essential considering that female viewers make up the bulk of Today 's audience.
Lauer with President Vladimir Putin prior to the 32nd G8 summit in Saint Petersburg in 2006. Lauer joined NBC in 1992, when he became co-anchor of the early weekday news show Today in New York on the network's New York flagship station WNBC.
On November 30, 2016, it was revealed that Lauer had signed a new contract up to 2018. Variety reported that his salary was $20 million a year. On January 6, 2017, Lauer celebrated his 20th anniversary on The Today Show with a look back at some of his most memorable moments on the show.
On November 29, 2017, NBC News announced that Lauer's employment had been terminated after an unidentified female NBC employee reported that Lauer had sexually harassed her during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and that the harassment continued after they returned to New York.
In November 2015, Lauer hosted an interview with Charlie Sheen, during which Sheen revealed that he was HIV-positive. On September 8, 2016, Lauer conducted separate 30-minute interviews with presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, both of which were met with much criticism.

Farrow's work was published in the New Yorker in October 2017.
On the "Today" show Wednesday, hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb — who worked with Lauer for many years on the show — discussed their responses to the news. "We owe it to our viewers to pause for a moment. This is shocking and appalling, and I honestly don't even know what to say about it," Guthrie said.
In the book, Farrow writes that the woman who made the complaint against the anchor said that Lauer anally raped her in a hotel room while in Russia, according to Variety. NBC News said in a statement issued after the Variety report, "Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific and reprehensible, as we said at the time.
Ann Curry was on Today for 15 years, but it wasn't until 2011 that she took the seat alongside Matt Lauer. However, just one year later in 2012, she was mysteriously fired from the show. Her announcement that she was leaving seven years ago still goes down as one of the most memorable and shocking moments in daytime TV history.
In a previous Washington Post article, Ann revealed that a woman approached her in 2012 to say she was "sexually harassed physically" by Matt Lauer.
When Lauer was abruptly fired from Today, Anne acted far from shocked.
With the Oct. 15 release of Ronan Farrow's book Catch and Kill, new info was released about Ann's knowledge of Lauer's alleged misconduct over the years.
It was announced in May 2016 that Natalie would be exiting Today because she and her family — she’s a mom to two boys with husband Joseph Rhodes! — were moving from NYC to LA. “ [My family and I] have long talked about perhaps moving to the West Coast where the sun is always shining,” Natalie said at the time.
Since leaving the Big Apple behind, Natalie has been working as the new host of Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood Live. She also serves as a West Coast Today anchor and still often appears on the morning program thankfully!
Last year, In Touch Weekly revealed Natalie’s Today departure was really due to bad blood with Tamron Hall (who has since left the show following Megyn Kelly’s hiring ). “Natalie and her co-anchor Tamron Hall do not get along, and it was becoming a strain on the show,” a show insider told the magazine.
After years of working as a TV journalist for various media outlets, Natalie joined the Today team in 2006 as a national correspondent. She was later named a co-anchor of the morning program’s third hour in March 2008. In May 2011, Natalie officially replaced Ann Curry as the Today news anchor.
It seems so! Natalie and Savannah Guthrie reunited for a fun Instagram photo in early October. Savannah captioned the pic, “I love seeing my beautiful sister at heart @nmoralesNBC in her gorgeous new home and sharing the most delectable dinner that she cooked for us (SuperSTAR).
