The Lincoln Lawyer is a 2005 novel, the 16th by American crime writer Michael Connelly. It introduces Los Angeles attorney Mickey Haller, half-brother of Connelly's mainstay character Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch . It was adapted as a 2011 film of the same name, starring Matthew McConaughey .
But perhaps most importantly, in keeping true to Michael Connelly’s six Lincoln Lawyer books, Mickey Haller needed to encompass two identities. Elliott Gould and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in The Lincoln Lawyer.
Having built a career defending petty criminals, Mickey will find himself neck-deep in trouble when Louis Roulet, a wealthy Beverly Hills playboy accused of aggravated assault and battery, enlists Haller's help to get him off the hook. Now, more and more, this seemingly open-and-shut case turns into a deadly search for the truth.
Roulet then confessed to Haller that he was guilty of the Campo assault as well as other murders, and he used the stolen pistol as leverage to keep Haller in line.
Eventually, Trevor is found not guilty due to Mickey's defense arguing that he simply would not have had enough time to hide his blood stained clothes and the murder weapon in the minutes before the police arrived. Trevor was declared an innocent man.

Mickey Haller doesn't appear in Amazon's Bosch or its spinoff series, Bosch: Legacy, but the role of Bosch in the narrative of The Lincoln Lawyer as it adapts Michael Connelly's The Brass Verdict has been replaced with other characters in the series.

While Haller tries to find a way around the confidentiality agreement with his client, Frank tries to find some evidence that would prove Rou let’s guilt. He finds something concrete, but before he can share it with Haller, he is killed. Mick instantly believes that Roulet did it.
One of the most important people in Haller’s life is Frank Levin. An ex-cop, he is Haller’s got-to investigator for every case. When Haller takes Roulet’s case, he warns him about having a bad feeling about the whole thing. He is also put in charge of looking into Roulet’s record, who claims that it is all about parking tickets.
At that time, Haller did not stop to question whether Jesus was guilty or not. Instead, he focused on getting a deal for him that would prevent him from getting executed. With no other option, Jesus was forced to plead guilty for the crime he did not commit.
