Chino State offers many rehabilitation programs to help the prisons’s prepare to function as peaceful, productive members of society once they leave prison. The biggest causes of incarceration involve substance abuse, violence, anger, and a lack of education leading to criminal activity. Chino State begins by helping inmates who don’t have a high school diploma earn a general education degree with the help of volunteer teachers. Inmates who are addicted to illegal drugs or alcohol are often required to have visits from therapists and counselors who can help them with the mental side of recovering from their addictions while medical doctors can help with the physical side effects.
