Played by American actor Jimmy Smits, Nero makes his debut on the episode " Sovereign " in the series' fifth season. A mentor for Jax Teller, he was also in a relationship with Gemma Teller Morrow.
As Carla is held in the garage, away from phones, Nero gets Emma Jean on a plane and back home. Nero arrives back at the clubhouse and is met by Gemma in an embrace, with Clay watching. Jax approaches Nero and asks to 'bounce something off of him'.
Clay tells Nero that Gemma is not home and then begins to grill him about the relationship between Nero & Gemma. Clay wants to know if this relationship is going to go somewhere, to which Nero replies, "I don't know.".
The gangbangers tell Nero that Em ma Jean, the worker whom Gemma previously caught with Clay, turned information to Vice. The gangbangers want to find Emma Jean, but Nero tells them he will handle it. He then tells Jax, if he really wants to help, will he find Emma Jean and get her out of town.
Nero takes Jax for a ride and on the way stops by to see his disabled son. They then get followed by One Niner's and Nero runs them into a dumpster, explaining to Jax "I don't get out much."
Nero tells Jax and they all rush to the hotel. After Jax and Gemma exchange words, Gemma says to Nero, "That is why I called you. I don't need this.".

The school shooting was committed by someone connected to Nero's cousin, who had been given a number of KG-9's. Jax contacts the Irish, wishing to get out of the gun business, but the Irish are resistant to the idea. Toric offers Clay help with the murder charge, in exchange for information about SAMCRO. When Clay refuses, Toric forges Clay's signature on a plea agreement. Nero's cousin, and the latter's girlfriend - whose son shot up the school - are killed and buried. Elsewhere, Bobby has added another member to his list of recruits.
The show centers on protagonist Jackson "Jax" Teller ( Charlie Hunnam ), the president of the club, who begins questioning the club and himself. The season finale was the second-most watched episode of the season and the most-watched finale in the series history.
SAMCRO comes to the aid of Nero's transsexual friend. Tara is more determined to make a break from Gemma, though possibly not from Jax. Tara fakes an assault, and gets a restraining order against Gemma.
The Sons meet in their new clubhouse -- the upstairs of the ice cream parlor. Before they vote in the new patches, Jax says the Irish peace looks real. Bobby recaps their sad financials, hurting from the slowdown on Charming Heights and the destruction of Teller Morrow garage. They're relying on Diosa, but paying Nero back out of the profits.
She mentions Venus coming by the club. Nero is clearly fond of her, calling her "familia.". Gemma tells him that Venus's mother Alice has custody of Venus's nephew and Venus is worried about him.
Tara meets with Ally at the hospital. She's prepared something that would legally prevent Gemma from being part of her sons' lives. Ally reminds Tara that the paper has no weight without both parents' signatures. Tara is sure Jax will sign it.
Episode Guide. "Sweet and Vaded" is the seventh episode of the sixth season of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy, and the series' seventy-third episode overall.
Gemma pines alone at the garage without Nero. He meets with his lawyer in jail. Venus Van Dam (Walton Goggins ) primps at Diosa. The Sons take the salvageable parts of the clubhouse to their new temporary home at Scoops & Sweets, a closed ice cream parlor owned by Jacob Hale. Jax gives him three months rent up front.
Bobby and Chibs subdue the other men, but Alice gets Joey into her minivan and drives off. Venus hustles the Sons into their car and they take off after Alice and Joey. As they drive off, Alice's husband shouts: "You ain't ever getting your son back you lady-boy freak!".
Before Nero leaves, he learns that Juice showed up in Gemma’s ride and that the Mayans are keeping it. Jax doesn’t know that, though, right?
Gemma is screwed: Nero speeds into T-M and tells Gemma about his day bonding with Juice in a Mayan closet. He lets her know that her SUV was used as Juice’s down payment in his attempt to sell club secrets for safe passage. Nero wants to know if she helped hide Juice, but Gemma doesn’t answer. She asks where Juice is now: “Wherever Jax is,” Nero says. And then Gemma starts to hyperventilate—or rather, she fights it off because she’s Gemma. Nero can tell she was helping Juice and goes from anger to concern in one second by seeing her so distraught. “If he tells Jax what he knows,” she says hugging him and crying. He holds her because he’s wonderful. Wendy, who was supposed to have headed back to Red Woody to put Abel to bed, watches them through the window. Will she talk to Unser again about this?
Nero tells Jax that Lin “is done” —which just means he’s out of business—and that he doubts the remaining Triads will attempt any retaliation this far north. Since the liquor store is locked up tight, Nero’s expecting a visit from Alvarez. Jax promises that SAMCRO has his back. This joke is welcome:
Nero: Yeah, we all know how well that worked out in the past.
