Fiona begins renovating and renting out apartments in her new building. She bonds with one of the tenants, Nessa. Frank returns from the monastery and begins to apologize to everyone he has wronged in the past. Lip tries to get his drinking problem under control while also trying to win back Sierra.
Fiona tries to raise the profile of the neighborhood by backing a plan to convert an abandoned church into an art gallery, unaware that Ian and Trevor are raising money to convert the same property into a youth shelter . Carl loses his military school scholarship, and looks for ways to raise money himself to pay for the next semester. He has also locked up the junkie thief in the Gallagher basement for detoxing. Exhausted from the stress of parenting his newborn baby, Brad informs Lip to find another sponsor. Frank teaches parents in Liam's school about the working class, inadvertently arousing a couple of the moms. Debbie discovers that Derek has returned, and is now spending time with Franny. An enraged Debbie takes ecstasy and goes on a road trip with a friend, Duran.
As Sierra's relationship with Charlie continues to build, Lip attempts to sabotage the relationship by tempting Charlie with a pizza topped with a baggie of coke. Charlie does not take the drugs, and instead decides to attend an AA meeting. Ian goes with Trevor to a chub bar in an effort to fix their relationship.
With the help of Ford, Fiona negotiates a final offer with Rodney's family and gets them to drop the lawsuit. Frank enrolls Liam in planning a burglary at his rich friend's house, but Liam is having second thoughts.
Frank teaches parents in Liam's school about the working class, inadvertently arousing a couple of the moms. Debbie discovers that Derek has returned, and is now spending time with Franny. An enraged Debbie takes ecstasy and goes on a road trip with a friend, Duran. 90.
Following his breakup with Sierra, Lip discovers Eddie's young niece, Xan , sitting alone in the motorcycle shop; Brad reveals that Eddie had abandoned Xan, who is estranged from her parents, at the shop. Upon discovering that Eddie had planned for Xan to be picked up by Social Services, Lip takes in Xan and invites her into the Gallagher home.

Though the Gallagher family matriarch was able to repair her damaged relationship with Vee ( Shanola Hamption) by the end of the season, it's been clear that Fiona has been floundering on the social front for a while now.
Ian tests Fiona's patience and resolve by bringing a messy "Occupy Fiona" movement right to her front door. Lip struggles to get Professor Youens to court for his DUI trial. Meanwhile, a now unemployed Frank goes on a job hunt and Carl gets a feisty new rehab client with a plan to help him get the rest of his tuition.
This episode marks the first appearance of Ford, played by Richard Flood.
Shameless never revealed where Fiona went, but she was mentioned a few times in the series after her exit.
In March 2019, Fiona, played by Emmy Rossum, left Shameless after nine seasons on the Showtime drama.
When actress Emily announced that Shameless Season 9 would be her last, she revealed it was so that she could move on to other projects.
Shameless came to an end in April 2021 and Fiona was not in the last ever episode.

Fiona learns he married Estefania, the daughter of Nando, a Brazilian mafia mob leader, as a marriage of convenience to pay off a debt Jimmy owed Nando. He threatens to kill Jimmy if the latter does not play the part of devoted husband for Immigration Services. Jimmy and Fiona resume their relationship at the end of season 2, although he keeps his continued involvement with Estefania a secret.
In season 2, Karen reveals to be pregnant with what is believed to be Lip's baby.
In Season 7 , Dominique defends Carl from him. When Dominique gets gonorrhea, Luther believes it was Carl and hunts him down before Carl reveals he was clean. He shows Luther that Dominique was with a college boy and the two of them join together to get her back. Luther bonds with Carl and is now much harder on his daughter. Luther helps Carl get into military school. Luther learns of Carl's decision to go and shows Carl that Dominique is with a new boy, which causes Carl to set himself back on the path of military school and he thanks Luther for it.
In season 8, Ian and Trevor remain friends, and Ian begins helping out at the homeless LGBT youth shelter where Trevor works. After learning of children being forced to attend conversion camps by their parents, Ian takes up a crusade and inadvertently becomes the face of a movement, "Gay Jesus".
Jimmy's business partner Angela tells Fiona that their deal in Dubai had been cancelled earlier that day. In the series finale, Jimmy briefly reappears in a flashback to a dinner that he had attended with the Gallaghers as a dying Frank's life flashes before his eyes.

With the help of Ford, Fiona boards up the apartment’s front door, blasts music, shuts off the plumbing, and makes a hole that allows her to crawl in to steal the dog back. Fiona’s able to hand her pet off to Ford just as she gets tackled by Trina.
This news sends Ian to chat with Blake, who says he can’t go home, revealing that his parents put him on medication because they think he’s mentally ill. Considering his personal history, that surely hits home for Ian.
Fiona doesn’t have time to stay and counter Frank’s argument since she has to go pick up Debbie at the ER. Debbie’s accident turned out to be even worse than predicted. It was so bad that amputation of the foot was a possibility, but at this point, she’s facing reconstructive surgery or the removal of the three damaged toes. Neither option is cheap…or painless.
