The Blacklist is an American crime drama series created by Jon Bokenkamp that premiered on NBC on September 23, 2013. It stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq and Harry Lennix. Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), one of the FBI 's most wanted fugitives, surrenders at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have similar interests in getting rid of dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will cooperate only with Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), a rookie FBI profiler who we see in the first episode, has trouble profiling just herself. However, Keen is not too keen on the idea. Over the course of his own criminal career, Reddington has made a list of global criminals who he believes are acting liabilities to his own interests or to society, most of whom are unknown to the FBI, and not on the "Most Wanted" list. He calls it "The Blacklist". As the series progresses, Reddington uses the FBI to apprehend enemies and strategic interests for his own personal gain. A Harvard alum and magna cum laude graduate, Gerard became the college's third youngest professor at the age of 31. He went on to serve as prosecutor for the state of New York for 3 years, after which he made partner at his father-in-law's criminal defense firm.
Red believes Gerard poisoned him and is destroying his organization. He was the only person who didn't come to the dinner, but sent a bottle of wine instead. However, upon testing the wine turns out not to be poisoned. The culprit seems to have been Dembe, who gave Reddington some whiskey.
Marvin and Skip Hadley meet at a diner where Marvin is upset that Skip consolidated Raymond Reddington 's accounts digitally instead of keeping them on analog ledgers. Elizabeth approaches and asks Marvin to join her in her vengence against Reddington, and Marvin turns her down.
The cold open shows a group of men walking shadily into some Atlanta country club only to have the very put-together-looking women milling about come together to jack their car, knife the headrests, and steal all the diamonds they were apparently rolling around with.
The Harem is “an elite group of female thieves who steal only from other criminals.”. But this isn’t a Robin-Hood-meets-crime situation; the Harem just steal from other criminals to cover their tracks, and Red says the group is covering up two sets this time.
While Red is busy representing himself in court, he puts Liz and the task force on the trail of a renegade doctor and biohacker targeting desperate patients.
Not one, but two, sneak peeks have been released as well. One of them showing James Spader in a very familiar role.
