Madison Lintz will return as Harry's daughter, Maddie, and Bosch recurring character defense attorney Honey "Money" Chandler, played by Mimi Rogers, will also be a main character. In the new series, Bosch, now retired from the LAPD, will work as an investigator for Chandler.

The cancellation could simply be because Connelly has run out of ideas for new material, and it would not be unreasonable considering how long the series has been running for. Season 7 of Bosch sets up detective Bosch on his way towards the spin-off. The final episode of the final season sees Bosch step away from the LAPD and embark on a new career as a state-licensed private detective, so long as the FBI clears his background check.

The Lincoln Lawyer was made as a movie in 2011, with Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller. In that movie, he was hired to defend a man (Ryan Phillippe) accused of murder. What is interesting is that Bosch was an Amazon Prime Video original series since 2015. Titus Welliver played Harry Bosch in that series, which lasted six seasons and has a seventh coming, as well as a Harry Bosch spinoff for IMDb TV.

Most importantly for the TV show, he's played by Titus Welliver, the gruff gray-haired actor known for roles on shows like Deadwood, Lost, and Sons of Anarchy. It's tough to overstate how good Welliver is as Bosch, grounding the granular police work elements and providing a wry humanity to the personal drama.
An individual season of Bosch typically follows a single case, drawing from a couple Bosch novels, and the pacing tends to be deliberate, with multiple plot threads converging right around the eighth episode of a 10-episode season. At the same time, Bosch has a pulpier, high-octane touch than Simon's high-minded shows.
When you start a new season, you pretty much know what to expect: Bosch will do his best to solve a tricky new case, he'll deal with some problems in his occasionally messy personal life, he'll piss off the careerist bureaucrats in the police department, and he'll eventually use his gun.
From that description, it sounds a lot like a typical Bosch season, which means that it will be good.
While Connelly is involved in the show as an executive producer and writer, the show was developed by writer Eric Overmyer, who worked with David Simon on HBO's The Wire and Treme, and Bosch shares some of the same storytelling tics as Simon's acclaimed cop series. In the second season Chandler is hired by Veronica Allen to defend her against charges that she murdered Father Tabakian. Despite Allen's guilt, Chandler is able to secure her acquittal with a self-defence strategy. The case again places Chandler in opposition to Bosch, who arrested Allen for the crime.
Bosch suspected it was a ploy by Chandler to garner sympathy from the jury and to demonstrate that justice means bad behavior is punished. On the day that the jury's ruling was announced, Chandler did not appear in court.
