Texas attorney Rod Ponton went viral Tuesday for appearing as a cute kitten in a Zoom court hearing. As a county prosecutor in 2014, he oversaw a controversial raid on a smoke shop. The shop's owner told Insider the raid came after she broke off a personal relationship with Ponton.
The cat filter is not built into Zoom or within Snap Camera, which creates filters or 'lenses' similar to the cat feature for video calls. Instead, Ponton's filter mishap was caused by Live! Cam Avatar, a tool from an old software program called Dell Webcam Manager.
Zoom Cat Lawyer, also known as I'm Not a Cat, is an Internet meme that refers to a viral video taken from a live stream of a civil forfeiture hearing, and being held on the video conferencing application Zoom in Texas' 394th Judicial District Court.
As for the cat filter, it's not one that's built into Zoom, and it isn't one you can find by searching Snap Camera, which is an application commonly used with Zoom that can add filters (Snap calls them "lenses") around or atop your face during a video chat.
Apply your filters. When you open Snap Camera, you'll see the variety of filters available, which range from cool backgrounds to, yes, giving yourself a cat head. You just click on the filter you want, then click it again to turn it off.
The most common reason cats experience the zoomies is pent-up energy. Cats rest and sleep for a majority of the day to conserve energy for short, very active periods. Without intentional exercise and activity, your kitty will need to find a way to get that extra energy out, resulting in a case of the zoomies.
