Casey Novak is a fictional character on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, portrayed by Diane Neal. She is the only female Assistant District Attorney (ADA) to have appeared in five complete seasons in any Law & Order series and the third-longest-running ADA in the entire franchise.
Novak lives in an apartment in the Upper West Side of New York City. She is Catholic. She used to work serving tables in order to pay for her college tuition. Sometimes, she rides her bicycle to work. Novak is a redhead, although she had her hair dyed strawberry blonde and blonde for some of her appearances.
Dick Wolf is known for replacing his cast regularly. And the truth is, I'm really looking forward to the future. In the season 9 finale "Cold", Novak violates due process by violating the Brady rules while prosecuting a corrupt police officer who raped two 14-year-old illegal immigrants, killing one.

Before Alexandra Cabot came to claim her ADA crown, Abbie Carmichael — a familiar face from Law & Order proper — provided her courtroom talents to the SVU gang. After handling a college murder and an odd brotherly relationship, her final case in the debut season involved the death of a salesman. It’s almost poetic.
Pam Grier. “Jackie Wilson” star Pam Grier has been on “SVU” twice, guest-starring as Asst. U.S. Attorney Claudia Williams. Grier appears in the episodes “Pandora” and “Disappearing Acts.”. Rainn Wilson. Before Rainn Wilson was Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” he was a janitor in the fourth-season episode, “Waste.”.
Jaclyn Smith, one of the original angels of “Charlie’s Angels,” guest-stars in the eleventh-season episode, “Bedtime.”. Smith plays a woman who was sexually assaulted in the 1970s, and whose case is looked at when a copycat surfaces. Her character isn’t completely honest with the detectives, however.
