Though limited, Meg's farewell story is the most justified of all the characters'.
To Kevin, who turned into a new man and proud father after successfully pinning Marco's murder on Eric, Roy's attention meant new cars and a fancy marina, as well as much-needed kind words and confidence. His blind eye to Roy's trafficking turned into full-on participation, thanks to a group of Cuban drug runners.

But she doesn't exactly get to write the end of her own story. Sally attempts to aid her grandchildren's futures and start a new life by selling Rayburn House, but that goal was thwarted by an appraiser's claim that the inn would be underwater in a decade. Itself, a perfect nutshell metaphor for this family.
The older criminal was indeed trying to make Kevin's life better by way of opportunities and gifts, and it was definitely revealed that Roy and Sally had a history together that took her outside of her marriage to Robert.
Eric O'Bannon. The long-suffering best friend of Danny Rayburn, Jamie McShane's Eric O'Bannon continued suffering in Season 3, and it got worse than ever for him. He was framed for Marco's murder and actually went to jail for it, since the Rayburn family held more weight over the O'Bannon name.

And Meg is having quite a day because that deposition that Chelsea was giving was all about our girl, Meg. She explains that Meg has a history of being violent, and she was at the scene of the crime the night Marco died, and sheâs recently taken off. Honestly, those facts donât look great for Meg.

When she takes the stand, Sally really goes for it, admitting that she left her husband after some troubles. Thatâs when Sarah died, and by the time she made it back to her family, Danny was in the hospital.

Belle calls out Kevin for lying on the stand, but he says it was necessary and doesnât give her much else. In keeping with the sibling ties, John goes on the lookout for Meg and finds her at a rowdy party. Sheâs going by Amy and presents herself as a woman who grew up âparentless.â.
The prosecutor keeps asking for a recess, but Sally isnât done. Sally confesses that she chose her husband over her son the day Sarah died, and that she ultimately made a mistake. This is Sissy Spacek offering us her A-game, and itâs honestly incredible television.
Even the defense picks up on that, and thatâs when she leans in real hard on Sarahâs death and how Robert Rayburn actually beat Danny after the fact by saying he got hit by a truck.
