After law school, Klobuchar went to work as a county prosecutor and later became a partner at two different Minnesota law firms in the Minneapolis area. Her interest in politics came about when she gave birth to her daughter, who was discovered to have swallowing issues.
If she is nominated for attorney general, Klobuchar could face another round of scrutiny on her tenure as Hennepin County attorney in Minnesota.
Klobuchar advocated for reforming ICE — not abolishing it — and offering undocumented immigrants without criminal records a pathway to citizenship. Klobuchar is a staunch pro-choice supporter. Klobuchar married fellow Minnesotan lawyer John Bessler in 1993.
She stands out for her grace under fire. That was apparent in September when she probed Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh about his past experiences with alcohol. Klobuchar asked Kavanaugh about whether he ever blacked out while drinking.

If Klobuchar were chosen to join Biden’s Cabinet, Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., would be responsible for appointing her replacement. She is up for reelection in 2024.
The senator drew heavy fire from civil rights activists and Black community leaders in February after The Associated Press published an investigation that raised questions about whether a Black teenager, Myon Burrell, was wrongly convicted of murder during Klobuchar’s tenure as the county’s chief lawyer.
Klobuchar, along with a group of bipartisan lawmakers, has introduced the Honest Ads Act, which looks to “help prevent foreign interference in future elections and improve the transparency of online political advertisements.”
The Senate is responsible for confirming Cabinet appointments. If Republicans maintain their majority, Biden might have to choose more moderate nominees if he wants a smoother confirmation process. Klobuchar is considered a moderate and a member of both the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
As a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and a former presidential candidate, Klobuchar has supported tying farmers’ subsidies to their cost of production, which would likely augment the amount of money they receive.
Instead Klobuchar surreptitiously began her interrogation by cherry-picking a quote from an article that Barrett had penned for the Texas Law Review seven years earlier.
CHECK OUT WeThePeople.store for best SWAG! Just like Sen. Dianne Feinstein had done earlier that day, Sen. Amy Klobuchar tried during Senate hearings Tuesday to press Supreme Court Justice nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett about judicial precedent vis-a-vis Roe v. Wade. And just like Feinstein, she didn’t directly jump to the topic she had in mind.
She then brought up Brown V. Board of Education, the landmark 1954 ruling that had banned racial segregation in public schools.
In response, the senator finally backed off but not without issuing an ominous, arguably childish warning about how the judge’s record allegedly proves her confirmation to the high court would lead America to a very bad place.
She made her name in Jewish Minnesota. “She’s ubiquitous in the Minnesota Jewish community,” said Steve Hunegs, the executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas. Klobuchar never turns down an opportunity to speak to the community, Hunegs said, and has featured more than once at events ...

(Theo Wargo/Getty Images for DGA) WASHINGTON ( JTA) — The race for the Democratic presidential nomination is starting to look like a CNN panel — more people fit than you think possible. Up next is the nice one: Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota.
Klobuchar is close to Franken, the Jewish Democrat who resigned from the Senate at the beginning of 2018 after multiple women said he had groped them when he was a comic and writer. Klobuchar refused to join a number of women in the caucus demanding that Franken quit.
Among Klobuchar’s pluses, she consistently wins elections by wide margins in a state that otherwise wavers between parties. Minnesota is neighbor to Iowa, the first nominating contest. Her pleasant and easy bipartisanship provides a stark contrast to President Donald Trump’s angry partisanship.
Klobuchar explained how Minnesota had recently opted for a centrist path as well, in 1998 electing Jesse Ventura on the Reform Party ticket.
Klobuchar’s first visit to Israel was in 2005, when she was contemplating her first run for the Senate. Then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon explained to her group that he had broken away from the Likud party after decades of devotion to its cause to establish a centrist party, Kadima.
Klobuchar, 58, said this week that she has a big announcement coming Sunday, and if as expected she’s running in 2020 , she will be the ninth major declared candidate in her party going for the White House — plus there are a number of other likelies.
Kim Kardashian's quest to be a lawyer isn't honorable. It's misguided and dangerous because her influence knows no bounds.
Take, for example, her latest project. This week, Kim tweeted her thanks to the Supreme Court for choosing not to execute convicted murderer Ruben Gutierrez at the last minute.
Kim wants to use her influence to get people to listen to her, but that’s the problem . People will listen to Kim–whether she’s right or wrong.
Despite her plea to Obama when he was in office , she wasn’t released until Kim Kardashian caught wind of Johnson’s case and made a personal plea to President Trump. Kim’s appeal wasn’t based on law. Just a “feeling.”. I just couldn’t sit back and see Alice spend the rest of her life in prison.
He says it, so of course, Kim believes him. After all, murderers are known for telling the truth, aren’t they?

Now here’s the exciting part. Trump, a man who previously said that all drug dealers should be executed, actually agreed. Within a hot minute, Johnson was out. Would he have done so if anyone else had asked him, besides Mrs. Kanye West? Unlikely.
“If you want to improve your chances of securing the best lawyer to take your case, you need to prepare before you meet them,” advises attorney Stephen Babcock. “Get your story, facts, and proof together well before your first meeting.” This not only ensures that you understand your own needs, but it helps a good lawyer to ascertain whether he or she can actually help you. “We want the best clients too. Proving you’re organized and reliable helps us.”
“ Winning cases can be lost because of a client who lies or exaggerates just as easily as because of a lawyer who tells the client what the client wants to hear instead of what is true.” So when dealing with attorneys, don’t just look for honesty—be honest.
When disputes arise, a person’s first inclination is often to call a lawyer, attorney Randolph Rice tells Reader’s Digest. But there are many situations in which hiring a lawyer is the last thing you should do. Says Rice, ideally, everyone would resolve disputes without lawyering up. “Getting lawyers involved can escalate tensions and delay resolution, all at great time and expense.” Take it from an attorney—before hiring one, consider if there are other ways to resolve your dispute. Maybe start by checking out these hilarious lawyer jokes.
On reading a demand letter, the other person will often say, “this isn’t worth the trouble” and they quickly settle. But here’s a secret from Knight: You don’t need a lawyer to write a demand letter. You can do it yourself. Just make it look as formal as possible, and you may find your dispute goes away—no charge to you.
In fact, a lawyer should try to stay out of court. “In my experience, a good lawyer always finds every opportunity to keep a case from being decided by a judge, and only relents on trying a case before the bench when all alternatives have been exhausted,” attorney, Jason Cruz says.
