During a rest stop at a Native American casino, Lois gambles away the family car. Peter pretends to be a member of the tribe in an attempt to get it back, and is sent on a vision quest to prove his heritage, giving him and Chris an opportunity to bond.
After his favorite soap opera, Linda and Heather, ended on a cliffhanger, Parker is desperate for drama, so he follows Liv around to entertain himself. When Karen and Pete question Maddie's absence, Parker lies by saying that Maddie is in the kitchen.
Greg gets Peter to pretend to be an older guy and go with him on a double date, and Mike and Carol prepare to entertain one of Mike's clients from Mexico.
Meanwhile, Maddie and Willow take part in a challenge at their local restaurant which has only been won by men before. Joey’s popularity at school is threatened when an old nemesis from Wisconsin returns and Maddie feels the need to keep a close eye on Parker’s new friend.
When Carrie drags Doug to her business picnic, Doug plays baseball with Carrie's fellow co-workers and Carrie's boss notices his great play out in the field. So he asks Doug to pretend to be a lawyer so he can play on their real team, which gets Carrie nervous.
Doug pretends to be a lawyer in order to play on the softball team of Carrie's work. When confronting Carrie with this, she says that he could pass for a number of professions, but not a lawyer. In this list, she mentions that Doug could pass for a mall security guy.
When Joe learns his father hates handicapped people, Peter pretends to be Joe; Stewie becomes friends with Tom Cruise after learning he will grow up to be only 5'1.
Tom Cruise destroys the mailbox belonging to "M. Lauer", an obvious reference to Matt Lauer. During an interview in 2005 the two of them had a heated television debate about antidepressants and psychiatry.
Episode 8: “The Target”. After discovering that Oscar is having an affair with her husband, Angela turns to Dwight for help, and hires a weird friend of his to break Oscar’s kneecaps. Dwight stops things before they go too far, leaving Oscar feeling guilty and Angela feeling devastated.
Episode 10 : “Lice”. With Jim in Philadelphia working with his new business (and having a meeting with basketball legend Dr. J), Pam is having a tough time dealing with the kids on her own. Their daughter gets lice, and Pam brings it to the office, although everyone blames Meredith when they get affected.
Episode 2: “Roy’s Wedding”. Jim and Pam go to Roy’s wedding, and seeing Pam’s ex-fiancé with his new bride makes them worry that they no longer surprise each other. Nellie initiates a program to give money to charity, and Dwight refuses to participate, and they end up in a standoff.
Episode 7: “The Whale”. David Wallace assigns Dwight to land the important Scranton White Pages account, and the head of the company turns out to be Jan Levenson, who only called the meeting so she could talk to David. Dwight turns things around by using Clark to prey on Jan’s weakness for younger men.
On Valentine’s Day, Pam and Jim go out to lunch with Brian, who reveals he’s splitting up with his wife. Jim gets mad that Pam never told him about crying in front of Brian. Andy returns from his three-month boat odyssey a day early to everyone’s annoyance, taking credit for all the successes while he was gone, accidentally blowing a big account, and meeting with David Wallace to make it seem like he was there the whole time. But then Erin finally breaks up with him, and David Wallace inadvertently discovers that he took an unauthorized leave of absence. Original airdate: February 7, 2013.
Episode 9 : “Dwight Christmas”. The party planning committee forgets to organize a Christmas party, so Dwight leads a strange Pennsylvania Dutch-style celebration. Jim is headed to Philadelphia to start his new job, and Darryl is upset that Jim has forgotten his promise to take Darryl along.
In a storyline that would have served as the pilot for a spin-off, Dwight’s Aunt Shirley dies, and his family members come to the funeral. Shirley leaves her farm to Dwight and his two siblings, as long as they agree to run it together. Todd Packer brings cupcakes to the office claiming that he’s making amends for his past offenses, as part of his addiction recovery. Pam tries to convince everyone not to eat the cupcakes, which turns out to be a smart decision since Packer actually laced them all with drugs. Only Pam ends up avoiding a fate of hallucinations and/or diarrhea. Original airdate: March 14, 2013.

The subplot of "The Son Also Draws" that involved Lois losing the car was based on the 1985 comedy film Lost in America. The part where Peter pretends to be an Indian to get the family car back was inspired by real-life instances of people who were "1/64th" Native American receiving money from wealthy casino tribes.

The family stops at a Native American casino as Peter needs to use the bathroom, Lois quickly becomes addicted to gambling and loses the family car. After hearing that Lois has gambled the car away, Peter tries to get it back by claiming to be Native American.
Peter insists on driving Chris and the rest of the family (Peter's wife Lois, their daughter Meg and their infant Stewie) to the Youth Scout headquarters, in Manhattan, to get Chris readmitted.
Alex Borstein , the voice of Lois, helped write this episode, making her the first female member in the Family Guy writing staff; show creator Seth MacFarlane mentioned that her input on the character of Lois was particularly helpful.
Mike and Carol are boning up on their Spanish in preparation for a business dinner with the Calderons, a client and his wife from Mexico City, Señora Calderon specifically who Mike is uncertain if she understands or speaks English. Meanwhile, Greg has a much coveted date with Sandra Martin.
The title is from the 1936 musical composition "Peter and the Wolf" by Sergei Prokofiev which tells a story and has an accompanying narration.
Meanwhile, Maddie is in charge of building a Paulie statue at Ridgewood, while Joey and Parker find out that Karen and Pete did not use their gift card to Goofy Gary's. Joey and Parker take advantage of this by using it. Meanwhile, Liv fails her promise to Maddie that she would help with the Paulie statue.
Maddie is upset that she can’t be in Wisconsin for Christmas and to cheer her up, Liv plans an incredible surprise. Meanwhile, Joey participates in a Mr. North Pole Santa Claus pageant against an old foe and Parker tries to teach Ruby the wonders of a Snow Day. 72.
When Joey is too nervous to talk to the new girl who he likes, Maddie decides the best place for him to practice talking to girls is at the high school dance –when everyone is in costume.

Prod. Following the events of "Champ-a-Rooney", Maddie comes to see Diggie, but he is nowhere to be found. Maddie and Joey later go to the airport and leave for L.A. as Diggie is supposed to be staying there for a short while before leaving for Australia. Liv decides to cover for Maddie in the meantime.
