The 2022 Oregon Bar Exam will be hosted at sites on Oregon's three law school campuses in Portland, Salem and Eugene. The Board of Bar Examiners (BBX) will assign applicants to a location based on three factors: law school attended, current residence, and applicant's ranked preference among the three locations. Those assignments will be final.
Those routes, however, apply only to practicing law in Oregon. If law school graduates want to work elsewhere, they would still be required to pass the bar exam. A separate panel has advised Oregon to lower the passing score on what’s known as the Uniform Bar Exam, the test required by 39 states, from 274 to 270.

In Oregon, students must take and pass the bar exam with a score of at least 270.
The state has since returned to the bar exam requirement. "We're not lowering the bar to become a lawyer," Joanna Perini-Abbott said, outgoing chair of the Oregon Board of Bar Examiners, AP reported. The Bar Exam contents and format varies by state. Some states use a standard test. This format includes two days of testing. Day 1 starts with two 90-minute performance tests. In the afternoon, you’ll have to complete six 30-minute essay exams. The second day does not get any easier; the morning features a 100-question multiple-choice test, while the afternoon features yet another 100-question multiple-choice test.
This state does not mandate undergraduate education, but, like most states, they do require that you graduate from a school that is accredited through the American Bar Association to be eligible to sit for the Bar exam. Not only is the pay strong, there should be excellent opportunities for skilled lawyers. The BLS says that job growth for lawyers between 2020 and 2030 should be 9%. Legal services will be required by many individuals, and organizations are more likely to hire in-house attorneys.
Additionally, in September of 2021, the ABA has granted approval to first fully online law school in the country— Saint Mary's University School of Law. The first cohort of 25 part-time students will begin in Fall of 2022.
The first step towards becoming a lawyer in any jurisdiction is to obtain pre-law education, or get your undergraduate degree. There are no undergraduate majors that are guaranteed to ensure your future success in law school or as an attorney. However, the ABA suggests certain undergraduate majors over others, such as English, history, political science, philosophy, business, or economics. When you are ready to apply to take the Texas Bar Exam, apply online through your ATLAS account. The fee for a Texas law student to take the exam is $300; out-of-state students pay $490, and attorneys licensed in another state who wish to take the Texas Bar Exam pay $1040.

The Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners mandates that all who take the state’s bar exam must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law institution. Graduates of law schools that are not accredited by the ABA and of law schools within foreign countries are not allowed to take the Oklahoma bar exam.

The LSAT is a six-hour long standardized test of your abilities in reading comprehension and writing, as well as your abilities in logic, analysis and reasoning. You will see mostly multiple-choice questions, plus one essay question (that is not graded). Although the essay question does not count as part of your total LSAT score, it will be used by law schools to which you apply to evaluate your writing skills. It is more a test of your abilities and capabilities than of your knowledge of any particular subject.
You should receive your bar exam results approximately nine weeks after taking the exam, via postal mail. You will be notified of the time and place of your admission ceremony, where you will take the Oath of Attorney and sign the Roll of Attorneys. You will then automatically become a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and receive your bar card and permanent identification number.
The Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners says that for the February 2017 administration of the Bar Exam, 81 percent of overall exam takers passed, and 89 percent of first-time test takers passed. For the July 2017 administration, 81 percent of overall test takers passed, and 87 percent of first-time test takers passed.
