With both characters living in Los Angeles and working criminal cases, their professional lives would seem almost bound to intersect at some point. In addition, within the novels, the two characters do interact – with Harry Bosch showing up in The Lincoln Lawyer book series from time to time and vice versa.
With Bosch having his own series, The Lincoln Lawyer instead introduces a new detective to the narrative. “We knew there would be a challenge, because the part about Bosch being in these books… [they] have the same blood,” Connelly says.
