I agree with Ms. Beavers. Adoptions are one of the few things an attorney does that is a happy event. I have done a step-parent adoption where the court did essentially the same thing as the case described by Ms. Beavers but in addition he instructed his bailiff to take a picture of the family after he signed the order.
