Theodore Boone discussion The climax is when Theo's homeless friend Julio find out a secret about the biggest murder trial in their town's history. I think the resolution was one of the worst endings I could have possibly thought of. The end is that the judge calls a mistrial. That's it.
Rising action- Theodore goes to the shelter to help Julio do his homework. Julio's cousin saw something that could have a huge impact on the trial. Climax- Julio's cousin, Bobby, witnessed Mr. Duffy murder his wife.
Theodore Boone, a bright, often irreverent 13-year-old, aspires to be a first-rate courtroom lawyer or judge someday. Recognizing his expertise and interest in law, his school principal signs a release note permitting him to attend the trial, and Theo witnesses the mistrial, then returns to school.
This is a terrific series for middle schoolers or elementary school kids with an advanced reading level. The content is pretty mature. Theodore Boone, the first book, is about a murder trial and the suspect is a slimy man suspected of killing his wife. But no more violent than most other books in this age group.

What happens in the book? Mrs. Duffy is dead. Mr. Duffy is accused of murdering her. Theodore Boone knows the whole truth, and he’s not even a qualified lawyer yet. Theo is a thirteen year old boy, not regular in the slightest. He has his own office, knows all the lawyers, policemen, and judges in the cozy town of Strattenburg.
So when Mrs. Duffy is murdered, and Mr. Duffy is accused of murdering her, Theo ends up in the middle of the case. In a scramble to try to prove Mr. Duffy guilty, Theo stumbles upon the truth. There’s a witness nobody knows about, and who just might have the answer to the mystery. But things get complicated when the witness is too scared ...
Theodore is worried this won’t be enough and that justice won’t be served. He has no idea what to do, and for the first time, he’s unsure whom to turn to for help. Theodore knows that if he tells his parents, they’ll insist that Bobby makes a testimony. This means Bobby must face immigration officials.
An endearingly popular writer, he brings his knowledge of the court system and criminal procedure to his books. In most ways, Theodore Boone is a typical thirteen-year-old boy.
He learns about immigration law and what defenses Bobby might have to any legal challenges. In the meantime, Theodore is growing frustrated with the defense lawyer and his antics—Mr. Duffy is guilty, after all. It’s not fair that he should get away with it. Theodore asks his uncle Ike for help.
It’s not fair that he should get away with it. Theodore asks his uncle Ike for help. Ike tells him that they must go to Theodore’s parents with the information, and to not let Bobby come forward yet. The Boones are happy that Theodore comes to them with this, and they arrange to speak with the judge.
The Boones are very charitable, and they donate a lot of free time to helping the homeless and making donations. Theodore has grown up always wanting justice for those who need it. In the early chapters, Theodore spends a lot of time discussing legal procedure with his friends.
However, if Theodore doesn’t tell anyone, then he’s concealing evidence from the court. With all his legal knowledge, Theodore knows this is potentially a very serious offense. Theodore figures that his best plan is to convince Bobby to come forward with the evidence himself. This will not be an easy task.
Theodore can’t wait to tell the lawyers, but there’s a problem. Bobby is an illegal immigrant, and he can’t face anyone finding out. He refuses to make a statement or give his testimony. All he can do is give Theodore the information second-hand.

Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer is about a young thirteen-year old boy who dreams of being a lawyer one day, just like his parents. He lived in a small city of Strattenburg, where he knew all the law enforcement officers, judges, and count clerks in town. In Strattenburg, nothing big used to happen. This witness had been an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, and Theo was sworn secrecy of the whole case. What could a thirteen-year old boy do? Well, if he doesn't bring the witness in, a man will not have to suffer for his crimes, but if he brings the witness in, the immigrant might have to go to jail, and could be shipped back to El Salvador. What will Theo do? The trial was already halfway done. If nothing was done in the next 3 days, Peter Duffy will walk out as a free man, and receive $1 million from his insurance plan. The worst thing of all, even if there was evidence, later of him committing the murder, the trial could not have been redone. Yet Theo was determined that he could save the day in the end.
