The towns and city referred to in the novel are vague and nameless in many cases but the booktrail covers Milo in Iowa and De Soto as there is a Milo in the book and the courthouse in De Soto was where Grisham himself worked as a lawyer although not a street one.May 11, 2016
The book is written in six parts, rather than chapters. Each part is numbered with about 20 (+/-) scenes. At first glance, it seems that there is no one storyline in Rogue Lawyer, but rather a collection of short stories that talk about Sebastian's cases and what he has to deal with to get justice for his clients.Oct 20, 2015

Grisham has experienced much success with the silver screen. More than eight of the novels he has written have been adapted into films and performed well at the box office. This includes The Firm, which became a film in 1993, and was later made into a TV series.
Rogue Lawyer is the 26th stand-alone novel by popular American author, John Grisham. Sebastian Rudd is a rogue lawyer.
John Grisham mixes the exciting pace of a thriller with fascinating legal elements, and the results are brilliant. Rogue Lawyer ’s protagonist, Sebastian Rudd, is an absolute whirlwind—smart, gritty, tough—and an easy character to root for.
Sebastian Rudd is a lawyer like few others who have graced the pages of a Grisham novel. Working solely by word of mouth, Rudd believes that everyone, no matter their history, personality, or mindset, deserves a lawyer and their day in court.
There are several plots within this book. Rogue Lawyer is separated into six parts, each with multiple chapters. The story is told in the first-person narrative by the protagonist, Sebastian Rudd. This book has all the stress of real life and could work very well as a television series.
Grisham is able to make his character, Sebastian Rudd, into a three-dimensional person out of ink, paper, and a lot of imagination. When the book ends, I wonder, “What’s next for Sebastian Rudd?”. This character can support a sequel or a trilogy.
Rudd ’s clients may or may not have committed the crimes they are charged with , but he does almost anything to obtain a “ not guilty” verdict, a dismissal, or the best possible plea deal if he can. When he is unable to obtain “not guilty” verdicts for some clients, those individuals present themselves as threats to Rudd.
The protagonist, Se b astian Rudd, is a jerk with a stinky attitude, but you would want this character for your attorney if you were charged with a crime. He is a self-righteous, pit bull, who believes everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Grisham captured the chaos of real life in this book. The protagonist, Sebastian Rudd, may be juggling more than one case, threat, or crisis at a time. In real life, problems do not present themselves to us in consecutive order, so we can resolve each one at a time.
John Grisham is the author of twenty-eight novels, one work of nonfiction, a collection of stories, and six novels for young readers.
