'Ink Master' season 8, episode 11 review: Did Sketchy Lawyer quit the competition? There are not that many episode left until we crown the winner of “Ink Master” season 8 and we have a really great group of artists left this season.
Scott Marshall Tragically, Marshall died of a heroin overdose at the age of 41, a year after winning. While he remains the only winner to die so quickly after starring on (and winning) the show, he's not the only Ink Master to pass away.
The winning contestant was also given the chance to take a trip to Mexico, courtesy of the Corona beer brand. So what went so wrong in this episode for it to be removed from Netflix's platform? According to a Reddit thread of curious viewers, the show was removed for “legal reasons" according to Netflix.
Long-running reality series Ink Master was cancelled last year at Paramount Network as the cable network refocused its strategy on television movies and mini-series.
"Ink Master" host Dave Navarro tweeted that he was “very sad to report” Marshall had passed away. #InkMaster @SpikeInkMaster I am very sad to report that Inkmaster and friend Scott Marshall has passed away. My condolences to his family. A spokesperson for Spike TV also released a statement on Marshall's death.
“Ink Master” winner Scott Marshall died from a heroin overdose, the Dupage County Medical Examiner & Coroner's office told TheWrap on Monday. Marshall had passed away in late October. He was 41. The tattoo artist beat out Walter “Sausage” Frank and Matti Hixson for the $100,000 Season 4 grand prize.
“Ink Master” judge Oliver Peck is leaving the show after 13 seasons, following an old photo that resurfaced on the internet of Peck wearing blackface. “We, like many others, were appalled when we saw the photos of Oliver,” said Paramount Network, which airs the show, in a statement.
Oliver Peck still works doing traditional tattoos. Since his split from Ink Master, he'll likely move back to doing full time tattooing. Peck does guest spots at the Elm Street Tattoo Studio he part owns in Deep Ellum, Texas. He is also the owner of True Tattoo in Hollywood.
Overall, the tattooing reality competition is not scripted as the contestants do not read any prewritten lines. Instead, the show more or less captures the reactions from real contestants in response to contrived situations. Ink Master: Turf Wars airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on Paramount Network.
