American Lawyer Magazine reporter Ryan Lovelace authored a book released last week entitled, Search and Destroy: Inside the Campaign against Brett Kavanaugh, portraying Katz as a partisan, politically-motivated feminist who encouraged Ford to smear Kavanaugh.
Two other accusers, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick also alleged separate instances of sexual assault by Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh was confirmed in a 50-48 Senate vote on October 6, immediately following the investigation. Lovelace's book claims Katz was angry at the white men in charge of the Senate confirmation process and had a partisan axe to grind by trying to keep a conservative off the court.
Results of a polygraph test taken by Judge Brett Kavanaugh accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, indicate her responses to the two questions asked of her about her sexual assault allegations against him to be "not indicative of deception," according to the report on the polygraph .
Ford's attorneys said in their letter that they would not produce their client's medical records because they contain "private, highly sensitive information that is not necessary for the committee to assess the credibility of her testimony.".
Hanafin said that when he first met Ford, she was nervous, like most people who take polygraphs are. He added that it was an "unremarkable" test, which is standard. He also acknowledged that regardless of the results, there is "a certain segment that'll just say this is just junk science.".
The polygraph test was administered on August 7, one week after she wrote a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein detailing her story of the assault. For the test, Ford gave her account, in which she alleges that when they were both in high school, Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed during a party and groped her, trying to remove her clothing.
“In the aftermath of these hearings, I believe that Christine’s testimony brought about more good than the harm misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court,” Katz said in the video. “He will always have an asterisk next to his name. When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important.
Magazine’s “Wonder Woman Award” for her "work fighting for gender equality, and increasing awareness of injustices faced by girls and women because of their gender."
He was found guilty of his crimes and sentenced for up to 175 years on state charges of sexual assault. He was also given a 60-year sentence on federal child pornography charges. Time magazine honored Ford as one of the year’s most influential people.
Sports Illustrated chose her to present an award to former gymnast Rachael Denhollander, who was the first of more than 250 women to publicly accuse USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar of sexual assault.
Katz’s attorneys performed their work for free, they said. More than $850,000 was raised by activists to support Ford, and an endowment is being set up to honor her for making the claims against Kavanaugh.
By contrast, the claims against Kavanaugh were uncorroborated, including one claim brought by Michael Avenatti’s client Julie Swetnick that alleged Kavanaugh was the covert leader of an underage gang rape cartel that roamed the streets of suburban Maryland searching out victims.
Later, at an “Applied Feminism and #MeToo” conference, Lovelace reports, Katz admitted the allegations were brought forward to taint any abortion jurisprudence by the Supreme Court and undermine Kavanaugh’s authority. Katz admitted:
Kavanaugh’s nomination for the Supreme Court was nearly derailed by last-minute unsubstantiated allegations that he had attempted to rape Ford when they were in high school decades prior. She said she feared he might kill her as well.
The attorney for a woman who made unsupported allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh admitted that she and her client Christine Blasey Ford were motivated by their support for abortion. The admission, first reported in Ryan Lovelace’s new book “ Search and Destroy: Inside the Campaign Against Brett Kavanaugh ,” was confirmed with video footage.
Wade. It is important that we know that Christine Blasey Ford did very real harm to actual survivors of sexual assault by cravenly lying about an innocent man.
Speaking of which, Blasey Ford deserves to be charged with perjury now that her attorney has admitted to the lie. The Senate should send a criminal referral to the DOJ and the DOJ should investigate and prosecute her for viciously smearing Brett Kavanaugh the way she did.
Christine Blasey Ford really is a Profile In Courage! This is also a good reminder of the incredible lengths that the Democrats will go to if Ruth Bader Ginsburg should not wake up one of these mornings and Donald Trump picks her replacement.
Christine Blasey Ford did not come forward to try and ruin Brett Kavanaugh’s life to do her “civic duty” as she told the Senate Judiciary Committee. According to her attorney, she came forward to put “an asterisk” on his reputation before he could rule on Roe v. Wade.
