I've already tried to reinstall my video card drivers and still had no luck. I've also reconnected the connections multiple times. The pre-view image has never been able to show up for me before.
The team at Elgato should create a 5k thunderbolt 3 card, with software to allow using 5K iMacs as displays. I would buy that in a heartbeat, as I've been holding off on buying a new laptop because I can't use my iMac as a screen (as the old, non-retina ones could).
