There is so much to learn and still it’s a little difficult to put as to what all did you actually take away from the show. 13 reasons why is a different series which majorly focuses on the sad elements of a teenager’s life. I’d say knowing that you’re loved and it’ll be better….someday is the biggest take away.

When Clay and Justin were taken to the sheriff's station to get interrogated about security camera footage of Clay pointing a gun at Bryce, Lainie bursted into the interrogation room to take the boys with her. At home, Lainie confronted Clay about not telling her and questioned him about the gun.
They ground both Clay and Justin for not giving an explanation as to why the test is positive. After Clay had a breakdown at school due to a shooting drill, he is taken to a hospital.
Matt and Lainie got into an argument about hiring a lawyer for Clay and if he could have anything to do with Bryce's murder. Matt thought that hiring a lawyer would make Clay more suspicious. The discussion ended with Lainie asking Matt if in the past two years he hasn't been surprised with what Clay is capable of.

She also explains that Justin will always have a home with them. During season 4, Lainie is the first person Justin goes to about his mother's death, which devastates Lainie.
