The episode concludes with a dramatic bombshell – the detective discovers Alice, who he had fallen in love with, was behind the the trafficking ring he was investigating. He then discovers Alice's husband Chris had accrued debts which meant he was blackmailed into people trafficking.

Of course in last week's episode four, Tosh discovered the shocking news that it was Sandy who had leaked the crime scene photos. In episode five, Tosh told Sandy she knew about his indiscretion – something he didn't deny or even apologise for.
Season six saw the return of a familiar face: Donna Killick, who (back in season four) was revealed to be a murderer after Jimmy Perez reopened the cold case murder of teenager Lizzie Kilmuir. Donna also had had an extramarital affair with Duncan, and later gave birth to his son.
