While he may have been the professor's favorite, going by his recommendation letter, the storyline was soured by the drinking. Because viewers saw so much of those two together, it was wrong not to see Lip speak. Plus, Youens' daughter was the one who deserved sympathy. "I'm so glad you were well parented by my dad," she said to Lip.
