Another thing that gets you out somehow is that they will do the sobriety tests wrong. Apparently there's a wrong way to do it I guess. Most good dui lawyers know the rules and stuff a lot more thoroughly than cops. And lastly, If all else fails, they can just get it reduced to a lesser charge..
Don't just get one of those lawyers that send you mail after you get arrested, they are scrubs. Good lawyers don't advertise, they get enough work by word of mouth. Talk to people in your area that have needed a criminal lawyer in the past. EDIT: that second paragraph extends to any time you get caught in a criminal act, not just DUIs.
Get your alcohol evaluation, meet your lawyer, schedule an appointment to get an interlock installed. You don't want to risk getting caught driving on a revoked license in Nebraska. The penalities in NE are really harsh for driving on a revoked license and even worse if you're caught DUI driving on a revoked license. We're talking felonies here.
Quite frankly a DUI is not as bad as you may think. A single DUI really doesn't change too much employment-wise (assuming the job doesn't require driving as part of your job duities), and you can try to get it expunged after serving 2/3rds of their probation is …
Don’t let people stigmatize you for a mistake you’ve made. We all fucked up. It’s not the end of our lives. If you are an alcoholic and happened to have gotten a DUI and need help, please do reach out to those able. We are in this together. A mistake does not define you.
Back in December I was arrested for a DUI and also received a citation for Careless Driving. I totaled my car hitting a sign that says “Don’t Drink and Drive” (universe was definitely sending a message). I consented to a blood test that came back at 0.154.
I got a DUI last May and I finally saved up for a new car recently so I was shopping around for insurance and I though ‘The General is supposed to be forgiving to drivers.’ They quoted me $666 per month.
I picked up the final summary of my case today. Last line is: "Probation Terminated. Case Closed" It is over. I am free.
I had to post this PSA as today I FINALLY got out of the hell that is Intoxalock. They are a National US company so I wanted to post to all.
I've been putting off posting on here for a while now, but I feel like it's time to. After religiously reading all of the other threads, and seeing the empathy and support, and sometimes also the sobering truths and responses - I feel like I could use the same with where I'm at.
Hi all. I'm 32 and all and all a decent person who made one huge mistake. I was working at a friend's house and had a few craft beers that literally got me blitzed without realizing. I crashed my truck on the way home and blew a .21. I never had any previous trouble with the law and haven't even had a traffic violation in the past decade.
I've been feeling really bad about myself lately and I'm looking for some help. I was arrested for sleeping in my car while visiting Florida (I'm from New England).
So I'm planning on getting a 2018-2019 Civic because my old car got totaled and I'm just curious on what options others went with. I know I could get something older and cheaper and that it's going to be pricey but I'm prepared for it.
Incredibly fortunate I did not include anyone else in my selfish neglect, but, holy shit, this is a shame like none other I have ever felt. I'll take this as a hint from the universe to address my decision-making.
Well it’s happened. I left the winery with a couple friends, was raining beforehand..I drove around a curve a little to fast, drove into a ditch into a parked car. I was the only one hurt (almost died actually), ended up in the hospital and my BAC was .299...
I'm 24 and got a DUI when I was found parked sleeping in my car for about 40 minutes. I was a bit disoriented and had an open container that I had opened in the car while I was parked. I breathed over a .34 and was taken to jail and now will be having to face all of this.
