“Slippery little suckers” has to be one of the most iconic lines in Pretty Woman. Vivian says this in the fancy French restaurant when she accompanies Edward to his business meeting with James Morse and his grandson. She tries so hard to fit in but while trying to eat the escargot, she ends up flinging one right off her plate.
One of the most memorable sentimental lines comes when Edward and Vivian are having a deep and meaningful conversation in bed.
When she notices two snobbish people looking at her when she first arrives in the hotel, she cries this line out loudly to purposefully make them more uncomfortable. It's fun for the audience to see Vivian put people in their place with just a line.
But then Vivian “rescues him right back” by showing him that there’s a world beyond a business that makes him miserable. The give and take between the characters means there's not much modern audiences would change about Pretty Woman if they could.
After spending one night with Edward, Vivian “takes a swim” in the hotel bathtub. When Edward walks in to propose his deal to her, he finds her singing to Prince while covered in bubbles.
In Pretty Woman, Edward does rescue Vivian in a way by giving her the confidence to get off the streets and pursue an education. He also falls in love with her and symbolically rescues her from her tower. But then Vivian “rescues him right back” by showing him that there’s a world beyond a business that makes him miserable.
The reality of her line of work is that sometimes, her clients skip out on paying her. Vivian is clearly well aware of that fact when the duo get to Edward's hotel room and cheekily offers up this line to diffuse the awkward tension.
At thirty years old, Pretty Woman doesn't fail to hold up. It remains a timeless classic, creating one of our favorite love stories in the most unconventional of ways. Edward (Richard Gere) and Vivian ( Julia Roberts) make quite the pair, with Edward showing Vivian true love and another way of life while Vivian teaches him to loosen up and appreciate the little things.
Barney's (Hector Elizondo) remark as Edward returns the beautiful, and expensive necklace has a double-meaning. It's clear that, for Edward, the necklace is far easier to part with than Vivian herself. Barney is a big part of Edward changing his mind and going after Vivian.
Maintaining her plucky, tongue-in-cheek personality, when Vivian and Edward reach his hotel room she suggests, " You know you could pay me now and break the ice. " Not only is it kind of cute and telling concerning Vivian's confidence, but it also has the darker undertones of reminding viewers that in her line of work she sometimes doesn't get paid.
Vivian is pretty fierce when she's feeling comfortable in her own clothes, so when she notices a woman staring her down she plays up to the situation, commenting " Honey, I've got a runner in my pantyhose, " while baring her leg and lifting her skirt higher, before laughing and adding, " I'm not wearing pantyhose. ".
Even though Edward is fighting his feelings right to the very end, he realizes that he doesn't want to let her go with enough time to get to her before she leaves town.
I'm not wearing pantyhose. When Edward first takes Vivian to the high-class hotel that he is staying in, it's clear that she doesn't fit in. Vivian isn't wearing much in the way of clothes unless you count her thigh-high boots, but her dress really doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Vivian is with Edward at the hotel room, they're talking while he's inside sitting and she's outside. You can see on the first shot it's day time and when Edward stands up and goes near her it's evening time already. (or viceversa)
Trivia: The scene where Edward offers Viv the necklace and shuts the box on her fingers wasn't scripted - Richard Gere did it as a joke. You can tell because when he does it, Julia Roberts laughs and looks up and around (ie. at the film crew) - in the context of the scene there wasn't anyone there for her to look at. (01:21:45)
Question: Why was Vivian wearing a wig at the beginning of the movie? Was it just part of her job/hooker persona or something?

Continuity mistake: When Vivian is standing at the elevator at the hotel after the polo match trying to leave because she is mad at Edward, the arrangement of clothes and her arms changes between shots. (01:17:45)
Continuity mistake: When Edward picks Vivian up at the hotel for their first dinner out, he walks up to the phone bank and picks up the phone with his left hand and his briefcase is in his right hand (down at his side). When he speaks with the manager, he hangs up the phone still with his left hand and then reaches up on the counter with his right hand to get his briefcase (which he never set up there). He keeps his right arm down at his side the whole time.
Continuity mistake: When Stuckey hits Vivian she rips his watch off. You can see it fly off to the left. When she bites him it's back on his wrist.
Continuity mistake: When Vivian is watching I Love Lucy, she goes over to Edward and undoes his tie, and then goes to get a pillow or something, in the next shot of him his tie is done again, then goes back to being undone.
