It was Connelly who created the character of the so-called “Lincoln lawyer” Mickey Haller in his eponymous 2005 novel, a Los Angeles defence attorney who acquired his nickname after his propensity to conduct his legal business from the back seat of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Town Car.
The movie is based on a series of novels, about a fictional lawyer named Mickey Haller, by Michael Connelly. But the character is based on a real person: David Ogden, a Los Angeles attorney.
