Well, the answer is yes and no. As in, yes, Damon has indeed won an Academy Award. But, no, not for the skill you presumed he would. Damon is an Oscar winner not because of his acting abilities, but for his writing skills; he won the Oscar for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen in 1997 for Good Will Hunting.
