Boston Legal. Boston Legal is an American legal comedy-drama television series created by David E. Kelley and produced in association with 20th Century Fox Television for ABC. The series aired from October 3, 2004, to December 8, 2008.
Denny suffers from memory loss and confusion as part of the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, but often refers to his troubles as "mad cow disease" when his utterances are confusing to others or when he himself becomes confused.
Denny attempting to engrave his own name on the Stanley Cup Denny's explanation of this habit is that people often can't believe they are actually in the room with the legendary Denny Crane, so he says his name out loud to assure them that it's real (as he states in his guest appearance in The Practice).
One of versatile Canadian actor William Shatner's most memorable characters was Boston Legal's Denny Crane. In the final season of the series, Crane becomes convinced that he has been infected with Mad Cow disease, often using the utterance “Mad cow” to explain the bewildering statements he makes.
The highlight was the marriage of James Spader's Alan and William Shatner's Denny, who decided to tie the knot in Massachusetts for medical and financial reasons since Denny was facing Alzheimer's. "Take my hand, Alan, take my money," Denny urged his reluctant friend.
Edwin Poole. Edwin M. Poole is a fictional lawyer from the American television series Boston Legal. Due to the character's mental issues, he has only appeared in four episodes of the show, though he has been referenced in several more.
Alan himself has acknowledged he has no hope of actually ever making Partner, for the very good reason that the partners, by and large, do not trust him, yet he is treated as much more of a peer by the named partners and senior partners than a subordinate.

Marriage, divorce, death and Klingons… it’s fair to say that Star Trek actor William Shatner has seen it all in a career straddling almost seven decades. Aged 88 and with an estimated £75 million fortune, he continues to travel the globe at warp speed, including a trip to Britain in March for a special Star Trek event.
Although never a suspect in her death, he was questioned several times by police after Nerine’s body was discovered. ‘I understood why they had to do it, but once they learned that I was 50 miles out of town and that I’d tried to reach Nerine by phone, it was fine.’
What eventually helped him, he admits, was meeting Elizabeth Martin, a horse trainer 27 years his junior who had previously lost her husband to cancer. ‘Meeting her absolutely helped save me,’ he says. The couple married in 2001, but announced their plans to divorce at the end of last year after 18 years together.
The original Sixties Star Trek ran for just three seasons, and only became a cult TV show years later. When it ended in 1969, Shatner’s first wife, Gloria, divorced him, taking the children and, he says, most of the money.
William Shatner is a well-known equestrian, and he has been for years. “I’ve got some world championships that I’ve won, I ride constantly, and I’ve put in my 10,000 hours in three disciplines. I’ve done my share of winning because I’ve put in the hours to acquire a certain proficiency,” he said.
William Shatner is a prolific author with many books to his credit. He’s written nonfiction, such as Star Trek Memories and his autobiography, Up Till Now, as well as novels, including many that take place in the Star Trek universe and his popular TekWar series of science fiction novels.
One standout remains when he hosted Saturday Night Live in 1986 . Appearing in a skit that took place at a Star Trek convention, he famously advised his Trek fans to, “Get a life!”. The line later became the title of a popular book by Shatner, as well as a 2012 documentary based upon it.
