Loncar was found dead two days after burying his 16-year-old daughter, Grace, who had committed suicide after battling depression her whole life. He was a lead attorney in civil litigation and was known as "The Strong Arm" in a series of television commercials across North Texas for years.

Three days later, Brian Loncar was found dead in his office. The coroner ruled his death an accidental cocaine overdose. The family believes he died of a broken heart. Loncar said losing Grace produced not only sadness, but also anger and questions.
Mr. Loncar, a plaintiff's personal injury attorney famous for his advertisements as “The Strong Arm,” was found dead at his law office in downtown Dallas. An estate battle broke out over the ownership of Mr. Loncar's multimillion-dollar firm, Loncar & Associates.

Attorney Brian Loncar, known for his TV moniker "The Strong Arm," died last month due to an accidental cocaine overdose, officials said Thursday.
Famously known as “The Texas Hammer” and “The Hammer Lawyer,” personal injury attorney, Jim Adler, has been hammering for car accident victims for over 40 years, championing “the little guy” against big corporations and big insurance companies which would deny their legal rights.
In addition to vehicle accidents, Slocumb represents wrongful death suits, medical malpractice and other areas. In a series of television ads, Slocumb calls himself the “Alabama Hammer,” but has also adopted the moniker “DC Hammer” for ads running in the Washington D.C. market.

Loncar's death was primarily due to the toxic effects of cocaine, but a secondary factor was hypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease, according to the Dallas County medical examiner's office.

Loncar found a sense of purpose in starting a foundation in Grace's name to help other families fight depression and prevent suicide. He spoke excitedly to friends about the cause — no one thought it would soon become the Grace and Brian Loncar Foundation. The Loncars had long dealt with mental health issues.
Investigators spent most of Sunday at Loncar’s Dallas office, where family representatives say he was found in his car in the parking lot. The medical examiner has not yet confirmed the cause of death. The Loncar family just suffered the loss of their youngest daughter, Grace.

Stepson David Long said that a team at Baylor had notified the family that Loncar's death was probably caused by a heart attack. Neither Baylor officials nor the medical examiner's office could confirm that. "Our family is filled with enormous sadness and profound grief," Loncar's family said in a statement Sunday.
