You can use the Parole Cutoff to decide at what point you will not take a risk paroling a prisoner. For example, you can set the Cutoff to parole anyone with a 35% or lower Re-offending Chance, or take a risk and set it to parole anyone with a 65% or lower Re-offending Chance.

Multiple accountants will speed up research. After researches is done, you can fire all but one. If your expenses greatly increase upon firing your accountant this is likely because you lost your tax breaks.
While prisoners are in solitary, Potential Confidential Informants will have a yellow circle around them when you select the Intelligence tab, then the Informants tab. To recruit your Potential Informants, select the prisoner, then select the Experience tab, and finally click on Recruit Informant.
Have various vending machines, coffee machines, water coolers/fountains and orange juice tables around your prison to settle the Luxuries/Food needs for prisoners and Comfort/Food needs for Staff members. If there is no contents on the shop shelves then assisgn prisoners to work.

While prisoners are under suppression, they will gradually lower their heads to signify obedience to the prison's law enforcement, will move significantly slower than prisoners who are not suppressed, and are less likely to misconduct - but also less likely to volunteer for one of the Programs.

The Death Row Appeal has to be set up as a program. The Death Row inmate will be joined by the Appeals Lawyer and the Appeals Magistrate in the Parole Room then, and in each session has a Chance of Clemency of getting released or downgraded to maximum security. The chance of clemency is halved every time the prisoner fails the death row appeals program and is increased if he passes, and it must be lower than 5% or 10% (if the Lawyer researched Reduce Execution Liability) before the execution, or otherwise the player may be fined if the prisoner turns out to be innocent afterwards.
At the end of the hearing, the Parole Officer will make a decision and the inmate may or may not be released early. The decision is based on their estimated re-offending chance (viewable in their rap sheet). In the Policy Report there is a slider that governs how lenient your parole board will be.
Failure Condition (in sandbox mode): If 3 of the prisoners that have been executed in your prison turn out innocent afterwards and did not get enough appeals before, you will be fired.

A Workman has access to areas behind normal and "staff only" doors, even if a prisoner is nearby. A Guard maintains security at the prison, keeping an eye on prisoners, subduing riots or fights, and transporting prisoners to and from Solitary, the Infirmary, and other locations.
Normal guards are prohibited from attacking Criminally Insane inmates as they may hurt them in the process. Orderly is a specially trained staff member exclusive to Psych Ward: Warden's Edition DLC whose role is to take care of Criminally Insane prisoners. Cook. Staff.
