Later, the rest of the Keating Four and Oliver find out that Nate killed Miller. Bonnie discovers a phone call Miller made which makes him seem innocent. After Bonnie shows Nate and Annalise the phone call Miller made before the transfer of Nate Sr., Nate decides to prove Miller is responsible for his father's death.
Asher believes he knows who is responsible for murdering Sam Keating. He reaches out to his father to work with Prosecutor Sinclair that will give him immunity for the information he provides. Bonnie tells him that she's the one that killed Sam Keating and to not pursue this because it would put her in jail.
Nate broke the news to his dad in prison, insisting it wasn't “bad,” and promised to have his father's “back.” He wasn't buying it. Later, Annalise wrote her written brief and presented it to the state supreme court. They voted to dismiss her case and the case ultimately ended.
That load is heavier for Bonnie than others, given that she suffocated her paramour, D.A. Ronald Miller (John Hensley), believing him responsible for the death of Nate's father.
After the murder of Nate's father, he blamed it on Annalise and swore he would avenge the unjust death of his “Pops.” In the following season, the feds caught the lawyer in Mexico, thanks to Michaela's father, and charged her with the murders of Rebecca Sutter, Emily Sinclair, and her late husband, Sam Keating.

Around the end of 1994, Julie's sister, Bonnie, gave birth to her son who was conceived out of rape. She uses him in Gina Sadowski's trial, then allows Frank to frame him for Sam's death. When he goes to jail, he's brutally attacked in prison — hello, he's a cop — but it's all good because Annalise puts Eve Rothlo on the case. Eventually, Nate gets out and forgives Annalise.
At the time of Wes' murder, he believed himself to be in danger thanks to Frank following him and having witnessed Charles Mahoney's murder on the street. So he called someone on his phone, which was revealed to be Dominic, barring anymore surprises.

Sam was involved in a sexual relationship with Lila Stangard, that eventually led to her death. He is the one who released Frank from jail and made Annalise hire him as her assistant. He also sent Frank to kill Lila after she threatened to expose their affair and her pregnancy to Sam's wife. During the first season, flashforwards scenes show that a fight led to Sam being killed and buried by Annalise's students. In season six, Sam is revealed to be the father of Frank through an incestuous relationship with his sister Hannah while Annalise is on trial for conspiracy to commit murder in his death. She is eventually exonerated.

Outside the wedding tent, he is confronted by Nate who uncovered a photo of Miller at a payphone, calling the prison warden the night Nate Senior was killed, leading Nate to believe Miller was the one who ordered the hit on his father.
Towards the start of season 5, Bonnie gets close to Miller to find out how much he knows about Annalise and the Keating 4. Due to his close relationship with Denver, Bonnie worries that he may have some knowledge of the content of the files Denver kept on the group. Bonnie begins to fall for Miller as the season progresses.

As the season progresses, Miller and Bonnie get closer, despite Bonnie refusing to publicise their relationship. When Bonnie finds out her baby may be alive, Miller takes her to her sisters house to find out the truth and supports her when she finds out the baby is in fact dead.
Later, Ronald enters Bonnie 's office and asks her why the FBI is meeting with her intern and makes a sexist joke about pregnant women and hormones. He then apologies for being a “frat boy” and buries the hatchet with Bonnie. He then tells her that he cannot run the office without her.
Annalise argued that she wasn't treated right. The judge agreed and sent the case to trial which was set the following day. He was later visited by Annalise at the District Attorney's Office where she got him to confess that she would have been charged with other convictions but chose not to.
Renee Atwood is a supporting character on How to Get Away with Murder. She was an A.D.A. and was dating Nate Lahey. She serves as the primary antagonist for the first half of Season 3 and a secondary antagonist of the second half. She was fired when it was revealed that she had Wes Gibbins ' body moved which was subsequently cremated.
Renee wants to make things more public however Nate wants to keep what they've got between themselves for the time being. The conversation moves to Annalise coincidently where Renee mentions that Annalise is calling herself an alcoholic which will most likely get her her job back knowing Annalise she says.
Annalise argues to the judge that Renee purposely hid the image from Annalise. The Judge doesn't see it and allows the image. After court, Annalise visits her in her office where she commends Renee for using one of her own tactics, withholding something from evidence discovery until the last minute.
Renee refuses to negotiate with her, not just because of her client but because of a personal grudge she holds against Annalise for everything that she had done and shamed the department.
