Annalise KeatingAnnalise Keating. Born Anna Mae Harkness, Annalise Keating (portrayed by Viola Davis) is a high-profile Philadelphia-based defense attorney and law professor at the fictional Middleton University.
Annalise started her own law firm as a defense attorney which she took on 4 students from her law class which she called the Keating 4. They worked on many of her cases. Annalise put her own law firm aside for a time when she took over the Middleton Criminal Law Clinic.
In flashbacks, Annalise is introduced as a criminal defense teacher at Middleton University who chooses students Laurel Castillo, Michaela Pratt, Connor Walsh, Asher Millstone, and Wes Gibbins to work exclusively in her law firm, where she is assisted by associates Frank Delfino and Bonnie Winterbottom.
Frank was never really a legal associate, which is how Annalise introduced him and Bonnie to the Keating 5 in the very beginning of the series.Oct 11, 2020
Bonnie has a love-hate relationship with Annalise Keating. In the season 2 premiere, it is revealed that Bonnie killed Rebecca Sutter in order to protect Annalise. Later, when Bonnie discovered that Annalise had revealed Bonnie's past to Asher, Bonnie said she wanted Annalise dead.

Clyde Harkness was Mac Harkness's brother, Ophelia Harkness's brother in law and Anna Mae's uncle. He is described as a big man, who loved to smoke and drink. It is revealed that he lived with Annalise when she was a child and sexually abused her. Ophelia found out and started a house fire that killed Clyde.

Because Frank is the catalyst behind the car crash that killed Sam in utero, Frank is indirectly responsible for his baby brother's death. Sam, Frank, and Gabriel Maddox are all sons of Annalise's husband, Sam.
