During his transfer to the psychiatric facility, two of the guards shot Nate in the head, killing him while under the orders of Lynne Birkhead. The two guards then staged the crime scene to make it appear that Nate tried to attack them.
He was Danny´s partner and police informant working for Internal Affairs. He was betrayed by Terence Niebaum and murdered by Grant Frost because he couldn´t be bought like Niebaum.
The second time Annalise used Nate as a scapegoat was during the investigation of Sam's murder. At the direction of Annalise, Frank planted Nate's fingerprints on Sam's wedding ring and left it in the woods near Sam's body. This evidence ended up getting Nate arrested for Sam's murder.18 Apr 2020
