I (26f) just started my first post-clerkship job at a big law firm (v50) as a litigation associate. I've been here 3 months, while there have been some upsides, I can hardly enjoy a thing because I have been absolutely BURIED in work.
The big law "freeze out" -- where partners decide to eliminate your work (in any manner of ways, by removing/ shifting work you once had, to not assigning you new work, etc.) -- why is this done over the alternative of a lay-off or just simply firing the employee?
I'm doing a small research on how to improve the quality of a lawyer's work. If you feel like helping, could you please answer these questions?
Happpy New Year! Does anyone know of any lawyers (or is a lawyer) who did not go to a highly ranked school but is successful/happy with their career?
Hi all, I’m a recent graduate (2020) from a lower T14 who got a job as a public defender in California. My grades were above median but below cum laude. I worked as a public defender for one year. I’d like to leave criminal law entirely, and honestly think that litigation in general might not be for me.
