I would say that you should follow up with an email and or a phone call, sometimes phone calls are better. I am licensed in Pennsylvania. Members of my firm are licensed in various states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

The interview process can easily take a month or two. Keep in mind you're also not the only person applying for the position - my firm's managing partner received somewhere around 50 or 60 application packages. Maybe 6 or 7 were called back for an interview, 3 or 4 for a second interview, then I was offered the job.
