At this point, it's safe to say that Carrie-Anne Moss is a bit of a pop culture icon, considering she's been in one of the biggest film franchises of all time, The Matrix. She played Jeri Hogarth in Jessica Jones, the lawyer who lacked a serious amount of β¦

Hogarth had a meeting with Jessica Jones who demanded that she take on the case of Hope Shlottman who had murdered her parents. Hogarth refused, believing the evidence showed Shlottman as guilty and Hogarth had no intention of losing, although Jones insisted that Shlottman was being controlled by Kilgrave.
Trivia. In the comics, Jeryn Hogarth is a businessman who worked with Wendell Rand and became a trusted ally of his son, Danny Rand. She is the first lesbian character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hogarth offered Jessica Jones a job as the private investigator for Hogarth, Chao & Benowitz, but Jones refused the offer, even using foul language to accentuate the point. Hogarth was disappointed because even though Jones' style was unorthodox and received various complaints, it was effective. Hogarth decided to hire someone else to be the firm's investigator.
Hogarth was called by Trish Walker, who wanted an interview with Hope Shlottman; Hogarth agreed and they scheduled it. During the interview, Hogarth held her phone to Shlottman as she described Kilgrave 's power. After the interview, Hogarth told Walker that Shlottman was clearly insane.
The pair managed to prove their case by showing a clay bowl that Rand once made with a fingerprint in the clay that was the exact same match as Rand's. Now with undeniable proof about Rand's identity, there was nothing else to discuss.
As Rand and Hogarth headed for the elevator, he thanked Hogarth for her help and excused himself. After Rand took his rightful place in the company, Hogarth was present at the press conference announcing Rand's return, and later Hogarth was Rand's first appointment of the day.
Hogarth was visited at her home by Jones, who requested that she delay the transfer of her mother. Jones claimed that her mother would confess and hand over Karl Malus. Hogarth then introduced Jones to Shane Ryback. Ryback was supposedly another beneficiary of Malus' work. he allegedly had the power to heal, as he healed Inez Green. Jones questioned how long he was at the clinic. Ryback wasn't sure as that was over ten years ago and he was unconscious half the time. He claimed they did a lot of tests on him, making him put his hands on people who were sick. Hogarth wanted Jones to meet Ryback before she made any decisions about Malus. What he did was both unethical and miraculous. With the proper funding and support, Malus could benefit the world. Hogarth believed that Ryback healed her. He gave her a second chance, and she wanted others to get that same chance. Regardless of what Hogarth had told Jones, she refused to let Malus go.

Jessica Jones is an American web television series created for Netflix by Melissa Rosenberg, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is the second in a series of shows that will lead up to a Defenders crossover miniseries.

Patricia "Trish" Walker (portrayed by Rachael Taylor) is a former model and child star known as "Patsy" who is Jones' adoptive sister and best friend. She now works as a radio host. Taylor was cast in January 2015. The role of Jones' best friend was intended for the character of Carol Danvers when Rosenberg was developing the series at ABC, ...
Hope Shlottman (portrayed by Erin Moriarty) is a student-athlete attending New York University who is a client of Alias Investigations, upon her parents hiring Jessica to find their missing daughter. Later made to murder her parents by Kilgrave, proving her innocence becomes Jessica's objective for much of the first season; during this time, Hope discovers that she was impregnated by Kilgrave during her time as his slave, whereupon she has the fetus aborted. Exhausted by the ordeal and feeling that Jessica's drive to help her has caused more lives to be destroyed by Kilgrave, she takes her own life willingly to ensure that Jessica has nothing standing in her way of stopping Kilgrave permanently.
Luke Cage (portrayed by Mike Colter) is a man with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin, with a mysterious past that Jones encounters in the course of an investigation and who changes her life immensely.
Robin Weigert played Jeri Hogarth's wife during the first season of Jessica Jones. She treated her role with the heartbreak and stoicism that countered the venom that Carrie-Anne Moss' Hogarth would send her way. Weigert's performance was so well-balanced, right up until the end of her character's arc. Unfortunately, her character died near the end of the first season, but it didn't stop Weigert from putting out a stunning performance.
Her character in Jessica Jones is D.A. Samantha Reyes, who served as a bridge between this show and Daredevil Season 2. She embodies the role of a powerful woman seeking justice in NYC.
One incredible performance in Jessica Jones featured Eka Darville as Malcolm, Jessica's neighbor and friend (sort of). He was a troubled addict whose eventual turn as another mind-controlled victim of Kilgrave's only broke our hearts when it was revealed. Darville poured out his guilt and shame into that role, which won us over as he eventually wanted to right his wrong against Jessica.
Rachael Taylor' s role as Patsy "Trish" Walker was a stunner because she really knew how to sell the warmth and worry of a best friend. Her character was also extremely well-balanced, even though she had her own traumas she was dealing with because ; i.e., a mother that ended up exploiting her for her own personal and financial gain. It was a line that Taylor walked finely on, but it took a while for her to land this type of character on the screen.
However, her role as Jessica Jones in the self-titled series really launched her as a true presence on the screen. Jones is tough and never sober, but that doesn't stop Ritter from delivering some emotionally-charged scenes. Her character deals with her trauma poorly, but Ritter never lets us forget that her sassy one-liners are symptoms of a deeper pain.
Most people might not realize that the emotionally manipulative and abusive mother of Patsy "Trish" Walker is actually an '80s star of her own. Rebecca De Mornay 's breakout role occurred in the '80s hit Risky Business, which featured a young Tom Cruise; she played his love interest. The role she's taken on as Trish's mother is the antithesis of her role in Risky Business -- an evil mother who only cares about herself, though admittedly, De Mornay plays that role intensely and it's great.
Erin Moriarty is a relatively new performer on the scene, but her roles in The Kings Of Summer and Jessica Jones really showcase how she might be gearing up for some big things. Her role as Hope Shlottman was tragic to watch as she was a reminder of Jessica's own trauma with Kilgrave. The arc of her character in the first episode was haunting right up until Moriarty keeps pulling the trigger of an empty gun on her dead parents in the elevator of Jessica's building.
Jessica Jones, an alcoholic private investigator "gifted" with superhuman strength, delivers a subpoena to strip club owner Gregory Spheeris for lawyer Jeri Hogarth (who is having an affair with her assistant Pam behind the back of her wife Dr. Wendy Ross-Hogarth), exposing her abilities to him in the process.
Krysten Ritter (left) and David Tennant (right) received near universal praise for their portrayals of Jessica Jones and Kilgrave, respectively, with Ritter able to "display her impressive range" to give "an exceptional performance", and Tennant being called "a horrific joy to behold".

Stephanie Maslansky returned as the costume designer for Jessica Jones from Daredevil, and was assisted on the first episode by Jenn Rogien, who crafted Jessica Jones' costume of leather jacket, faded jeans, and boots. Maslansky's fashion choices for each character were influenced by their comic incarnations, and she said, "You really have to study your history of the original characters and see how they dress, how they were originally drawn, how they evolved through the years in these comics. And what you might discover is that, as illustrated, they kind of do wear the same thing all the time." Maslansky also stated that "everyone has a very specific look, and you can vary within that look, but it's not over the top. It has to feel realistic and feel very grounded in this authentic reality we've created in Hell's Kitchen." On Jones' costume, Maslansky said she "considers her clothing to be an armor and a shield and something that helps her maintain a distance from other people and privacy. It keeps her from having to deal with the rest of humanity in a certain sort of way." At least 10 versions of Jones' jacket were made, which started as an Acne Studios leather motorcycle jacket that had any "bells and whistles and any additional superfluous design details" removed, while 20 pairs of jeans were used. Each piece was aged and distressed.

At the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International, Sean Callery revealed he was composing the music for the series. Callery did not begin composing the series' main theme until after reading two or three scripts, and did not see the opening graphics until after the second episode, at which point he had "a framework for a theme that [he] hoped would work". At this time, Callery said he started "fooling around" with ideas for the theme, and eventually settled on one that he felt had a "sneaky and fun-ness" quality, adding, Jessica Jones "has dry humor, a real edge to her. But there was something to this character that had a little whisker of playfulness in there, like a cat or something." After creating the theme, Callery began working on the rhythmic quality of it, eventually fully orchestrating his idea into what became the resulting opening theme. Regarding the electric guitar's entrance, Callery pointed out that it got "bigger there because as I looked at the graphics, the lights got a little more strobe-y. So that's when I decided the electric guitar might be a kind of neat add there so that the whole piece will arc a little more." A soundtrack album for the first season was released digitally on June 3, 2016. Jamie Forsyth also contributed to the music of the first season. A soundtrack album for the second season was released digitally on March 16, 2018.
