Under Washington law, you can file your motion to restore your firearm rights in any superior court that terminated your right to use or possess firearms.
In Washington State, anyone who has been convicted of a felony or any crime of domestic violence is ineligible to possess a firearm. This ban will last a lifetime, unless the right is restored by a court of record (typically the Superior Court where the individual resides).
A licensed person can legally obtain, own or exchange the gun. Without license no one can posses the gun, even if he is a lawyer or not. Lawyers in India also have to follow the same rules as that of the ordinary people.Sep 18, 2018
For you to be eligible for firearms restoration, you must be crime-free for at least five years since the felony conviction that resulted in your loss of gun rights. If the conviction was for a misdemeanor, the period is three years. That means there cannot be any warrants for your arrest or pending charges.
Generally speaking, felons are still allowed to associate with or be around someone who owns a gun. However, things can get tricky if the gun is around or if the person lives with them.
