Aramis Ayala was pulled over by Orlando police in June, but video of the traffic stop went viral on Wednesday after some said the stop appeared unnecessary.
Ayala had just finished teaching a law class at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a historically black university, when the traffic stop took place.
She agreed the traffic stop was consistent with Florida law, but still merited a conversation with law enforcement.
Ayala was in the news earlier this year after she announced she would not seek the death penalty for an accused cop-killer. Gov. Rick Scott removed her from the case over the decision. The state attorney received a racist message in March and a week later received another letter with a noose made of green twine enclosed.
After the officer went back to his car for less than a minute —apparently adhering to the judge’s threat—he returned to the vehicle to let him go.
Acting in what some could claim was an insolent manner, Judge Reinaker exited his vehicle and began arguing with East Lampeter Township Officer Chad Snader who pulled him over. Reinaker immediately questioned Snader’s decision to pull him over saying:
After turning away momentarily following Snader’s demand the judge return to his vehicle, Reinaker then issued what many believe was a veiled threat.

Using one’s position in government to garner favor with other public officials is a violation of State law and such actions can lead to reprimanding for breaking the state’s Judicial Code Of Conduct.
The judge then defended his actions saying he’s always paid his tickets without incident and rejected the notion he used his position to get out of trouble with the law.

The officers demanded he turn off his phone, citing a reportedly non-existent state law, but what they didn't know was that Jesse Bright was a defense attorney – moonlighting as a driver to make some extra cash in an effort to pay off his student loans. Now, one of the officers involved has been demoted.
Becker has been with the department 17 years . Police spokeswoman Linda Thompson told The Associated Press an investigation of the incident was closed Thursday. She could not say whether the demotion was directly related to the investigation.
In the first of three videos Bright posted of the February 26 confrontation, one of the officers tells Bright that the passenger was caught leaving a drug house. He also asks Bright if he had anything in the car that he needed "to be concerned about" and if he would mind if he looked.
He then threatened him with jail and police began to search the car. Again, Bright refused to allow his car to be searched.
After a search, police let Bright go - without an apology, he tells CBS News. After Bright went public with the incident, the police department released a statement saying they were launching an internal investigation.
