Kevin Porter became Bryce’s private counsellor, which Bryce at first didn’t want because of the way Mr. Porter used to treat him. He eventually agreed to therapy, where Bryce is tasked to write a letter about himself from his mother’s perspective.

With Dep. Standall supporting Ani's story, the police go along with that as the official narrative: Monty is officially named as Bryce Walker's killer, and the murder case is closed.
After Ani finished her statement by saying Monty killed Bryce, Deputy Standall told her that Monty was killed in his jail cell.
Bryce fell into the water, Jessica shouted for Alex and ran to him. Bryce started to drown as he could not swim with his injuries and called for them to help, but Jess and Alex just stood and watched in shock. Bryce couldn't keep staying afloat due to his injuries, and sunk underwater and drowned.

In a powerful scene, Jessica addresses her attacker in her court statement, calling out the long-term affects of his actions on her life and how his sentencing should reflect his crimes, but also be a sign to other rape survivors that their story will be heard.
