Dr. Annette Bosworth is guilty of all 12 felony counts of electioneering crime in her 2014 bid for the U.S. Senate, the jury said. The panel of eight women and four men announced it in court about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday in Pierre, more than three hours after they began deliberating.

Wednesday, the jury of eight women and four men left the court room in Pierre to begin deliberating Bosworth's fate after three days of testimony from about 30 witnesses and two hours Wednesday of judge's instructions and lawyers' closing arguments.

Bosworth came under fire after promoting a raffle to raise money for military families to take a fishing trip in Alaska. The raffle was run through Bosworth's nonprofit organization, Preventive Health Strategies. PHS was raffling off 80 acres of farm land in South Dakota.
Bosworth held a press conference to condemn critics and the media for allegedly using hateful, misogynistic rhetoric to characterize her and other female candidates and politicians. She delivered her message in front of her campaign signs that had reportedly been defaced with sexist slurs against Bosworth. During the conference, Bosworth said: "The Democrats talk about a war on women, but much of what you see here is written by the supposedly tolerant liberals. Leann Batiz, a nurse and one of six former employees who said Bowsworth owed them money, wrote in a letter to state Rep. Steve Hickey, "After a few weeks of receiving $10 less an hour than I was paid as an RN, I started to have to beg for my paycheck every two weeks and she always 'negotiated' a lesser amount than I was owed."
